The Oklahoma Supreme Court Network Justice Rudolph Hargrave has passed away Tuesday April 1. Our condolences to his wife Madeline and their family. Graveside services were held on Friday April 4 at 2 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, located on SH-56, just south of U.S. 270. Justice Hargrave was born in 1925 in Shawnee and resided in Wewoka. On October 10, 1978, Hargrave was appointed to the Oklahoma Supreme Court by Governor David L. More recently, Justice Hargrave was honored by the namesake "Hargrave Prize" award, first given in 2013 as an annual recognition of the best three faculty papers of the Sovereignty Symposium. Hargrave and his wife, Madeline, have three children, Cindy Keefer of Ada, John Robert Hargrave of Ada, and Jana Howard of Ardmore, Oklahoma In honor and memory of Justice Rudolph Hargrave, the family has requested that donations be made to the Madeline Hargrave Centennial Endowment at the ECU Foundation in lieu of flowers.
