22 Things You're Doing Wrong

by June Gilbank & clean silver with foil I saved a tweet from @craft_tips: Warm water, baking soda, aluminum foil. Insert tarnished silver, remove after 10 minutes. Clean! The idea of a quick and easy method to clean it without any effort was too good to pass up – I have a lot of silver jewellery (because I only wear silver or white gold jewellery) and some is horribly tarnished. I googled to try to find more details and the consensus seems to be that foil, baking soda, a little salt, and boiling water are the magic formula. Let’s see it in action! Before (I chose the blackest, most tarnished pieces for this photo. Aluminium foil in the bottom of a glass bowl, with baking soda and a little salt Boiling water added – bubbles! I added the jewellery – the trick is to make sure that each piece is in direct contact with the foil. Look how dirty the water becomes (I’d taken out most of the jewellery by this point) Most of my jewellery came out clean and shiny. The remaining black tarnish rubbed off easily on a paper towel Clean and shiny!

How to cut glass I posted a picture about 1 week ago on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter of me cutting glass using just string. I got LOT’S of requests for a tutorial on how I DID THIS! So here it is. FINALLY! You will be able to learn how to cut glass. I want to warn you. It’s best to triple your yarn because it will burn longer! Soak it GOOD! I like to tie my yarn where I want my glass to “cut” then quickly pour polish remover over the string again. Get a big bowl with ice and water ready. VERY IMPORTANT! Slowly turn your bottle. You can’t let the flame go OUT then dunk it in the ice water. YAY!!! I reallly hope you enjoyed this tutorial because I had ALOT of requests for it! © Copyright jaderbombllc, All rights Reserved.

no-bake energy bites I probably should have poured a nice stiff drink recipe for you all on this loveliest of lovely tax days. Especially for my fellow small business owners who just gave half of their revenue back to the government. Good grief, I won’t even go there. Instead though, I thought I’d offer my idea of a more comforting alternative. Pasta. When life is good, and when life gets crazy, I turn to pasta. And just as it has for years, this one hit the spot. Pets - Sea Monkeys! Oct 31,19962:00 PM Three weeks ago, my pet fish at work (Fishbert) died (tragic tank-cleaning accident). I had a small ceremony and flushed him, but I’ve been without pets ever since. Today, I made the decision to get some sea-monkeys. I immediately proceeded to Toys’R’Us. 2:07 PM Nooooo!!!!!! Toys’R’Us is out of Sea Monkeys! Well, it’s time for me to go home, but I’m waiting for a call from one of my co-workers on a problem. I traveled to the next-nearest pet store to get a different tank for my second family of Sea Monkeys. By now, the building was getting quiet. Hmmm. . maybe those rocks weren’t such a great idea. odd. Izzy and Leo are still going at it. Two more monkeys have escaped the catacombs. Since I now know that Sea-Monkeys like light, I am placing them on top of a black piece of paper, and am hoping some more of the ‘Bob’ will come to the surface. Yngvie’s back to surveying the tree. The 'Bob' collective is making me nervous. . they keep. . looking at me. EARTHQUAKE!

How to Impress Adcoms with your Extracurriculars Want to know how to impress adcoms with your extracurriculars? Follow Eternity_Hope2005's excellent advice that was originally placed elsewhere on our boards, but deserves to be featured on one of our most popular boards. "Let me tell you something. Everyone wants to look brilliant and versatile. I mean who doesn't want to tell the admissions officer that they are everywhere in the community and have taken a phenomenal amount of interest in extracurriculars. The plan to talk about specific ec's rather than all of them is still much more efficient. Almost everyone who applies to these top schools has pages and pages of extracurricular activities. This conveys a message to the admissions officer that you are certainly involved in the community. However, if you really want your admissions officer to ADMIRE you (in other words want your folder to truly stand out); you've got to show your personality as not just involved, but truly passionate and real. How does one do this? Here's the deal.

20 Procrastination Hacks This post was written by Leo Babauta of ZenHabits.net I’m going to take a wild leap and suggest that procrastination is a problem that plagues even the best of us. Yes, even Scott Young must procrastinate once in awhile. I surely do. But even though I procrastinate, I find ways to get a lot done. I am the epitome of what Scott calls “productively lazy”. This post, for example, was written as a means of putting off a more urgent article that I need to write by the end of today. Please note that I do not suggest that you do all of these — that’s an overwhelming task that would certainly be pushed back endlessly. Form a Do It Now habit. Bonus hack: Procrascipline.
