Things I Wish I Knew Earlier About Teaching Maths cnps2's Blog - Blogging Rules We are all really excited to have our class blog and share the story of our year. Keeping the blog a safe a secure place to work is very important. Through the use of the blog the children have the opportunity to develop their understanding of online safety and how to behave when on the web. We have a few simple guidelines that we need to keep to in order to make the most of our class blog. Blogging Rules These are the blogging rules and guidelines I will reinforce in 2014. I discuss these rules and guidelines regularly with the students and include them on the blogging information /permission note that I send home to parents. *Blogs are in a public space -€“ be proud of anything you write or post! *Do not post information or pictures of others without their permission and never use full names. When blogging: *Think of a username (eg spuddoo) which will be your alias. *Do not write about any personal information-€“ eg your Т phone numbers Т or tell anyone where you live.

Why educators should start a blog and join Twitter « The Principal's Principles Tomorrow morning, I’ll make a presentation at 7:30 in the morning to get our district technology camp started. My topic is “Building your Professional Learning Network,” and will focus on how professionals can use social media to enhance their skills. As I prepared, I thought a lot about my audience, some dedicated educators from our schools who are facing the constant challenge of doing more with less. My job is to convince those gathered that it is worth their valuable time to create their own digital footprint. After some reflection, here’s my 6 point argument: Twitter and blogs connect you with smart people from around the world. Thinking about my own PLN, there are classroom teachers, administrators, college professors, consultants, and others connected to education that have ideas that allow me to learn more. Twitter and blogs are always available. My schedule, like everyone else in our profession, is rather hectic. Whatever your passion, there is someone out there to learn with.
