www.valeriapetrone.com Marina Vandel : illustrations & motifs depuis 2009 a creative mint 3x3, THE MAGAZINE OF CONTEMPORARY ILLUSTRATION: Una Storia Americana Opening January 29th The Italian Cultural Institute of New York is hosting the exhibit Una Storia Americana presenting a selection of recent works by Italian artists Emiliano Ponzi and Olimpia Zagnoli. From the press release: Their work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, MTA Transit, New York Magazine, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Newsweek, Penguin Books, Time Out New York and the Washington Post, and many other advertising campaigns, magazines, books and newspapers. Their style is distinct and original; Ponzi's lyrical images are characterized by delicate colors and conceptual metaphors, while Zagnoli's illustrations are identifiable for their soft and boldly colored shapes. eu.art.com - Design Inspiration and Wall Art The boutique hotel chain's second Los Angeles location features a giant 40-foot wall facing 6th Avenue, where up-and-coming artists are regularly invited to create site-specific works. It's an ever-changing outdoor exhibition space: each artist's mural has a lifespan of about three months before it's painted over and replaced with a new piece. Mario's mural at the Standard incorporated trademark elements of his style like muted colours and clean architectural forms. After producing parts of the mural in his studio in Berkeley and on-site in LA, Mario hand-painted the background. Elle vient juste de terminer ses études en Design Graphique à l'UQAM en remportant au passage une bourse pour son travail d'illustration. Avant de venir s'exiler au Canada, Élise a fait une Manaa au lycée des Arènes à Toulouse, une formation d'un an à l'école du Louvre et a également obtenu un BTS de communication visuelle à l'école Estienne. Nous abordons dans notre discussion la place de l'illustration dans son travail, les particularités de l'enseignement Canadien, sa nécessité de pratiquer le design et enfin, son engagement pour un graphisme utile et durable.
