Social Skydiving: The Art of Talking to Strangers I’ve travelled all over the world, from New York to Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro to Tokyo. I’ve had the privilege of working with brilliant minds. A few years ago I learned French, and mastered the language well enough to speak in horrible slang with a fully authentic accent. I bought my first house not even 72 hours after my first ever house-shopping expedition, and only hours before I was due on a plane to Australia. But the single most exhilarating thing I’ve ever done was to make a habit of talking to strangers. Nothing has changed my world view, and my life, more than taking the risk of saying “Hi” to people I don’t know on a regular basis. How to Become a Social Skydiver I can’t help but geek out on almost everything I do. Figure out what you want. How to Approach People I prefer to keep my conversations fairly organic. What you say isn’t nearly as important as how you say it. That’s okay. What I’ve Learned from Talking to Strangers People don’t bite. One Approach a Day

Pineal Gland – Portal of Higher Dimensions Dr. Terry Willard, GuestWaking Times One of the most wondrous parts of our physical body is the Pineal Gland. It is also called the epiphysis cerebri, epiphysis, conarium or the “Third Eye.” It is a small endocrine gland in the vertebrate brain. Even though this gland is hidden deep inside the brain and is only the size of a pea, it has been an almost fanatical obsession of masters, mystery schools and religions throughout the ages. One of the central figures in Egyptian mystery school myths is the Eye of Horus. The Egyptian connection does not stop there, by any means — in fact some feel the great pyramid of Giza was not only built to stimulate Pineal activity, it was built with the initiation chamber in the shape/ location of the pineal gland. In earlier blogs we have talked about the law of similarities, fractal relationships or morphic resonance. Many of the mystery schools often coded the information in the form of a pine cone.

Magic Fingers | Yoga Yoga December 2011By Mehtab, Founder of Yoga Yoga The greatest secret in yoga is right at the tip of your figures. Literally. These finger positions are called “mudras” or energy seals, and when you discover their secret, you will always make them a part of your yoga practice. Mudras allow you to develop an awareness of the vital energy (prana) within your body and to direct it. Holding a mudra, or hand position, during an asana practice brings a steadiness and focus to your practice that is powerful and profound. In fact, mudras are said to be more powerful than yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama) since they can generate a strong psychic effect upon the inner being and facilitate spiritual advancement. The hand and finger positions of mudras make important connections in the nervous system and stimulate specific energy pathways (nadis). Early yogis mapped out the hand areas and their associated reflexes which relate to the different areas of the body and brain.

How To Initiate Conversation The hardest part of socializing, for many people, is initiating conversation. However, it is a big mistake to go about life not making the first move and waiting for someone else to do it [in conversation or anything]. This isn’t to say you must always be the first in everything or spark up conversations with everyone you see. What should be said, though, is once you get good at starting conversations, a lot of other things will progress in the way you want; such as networking and your love life. The Benefits First thing is you should acknowledge why it is a good thing to be able to initiate conversations with strangers or people who you don’t know well. 1. You can only learn so much alone, and I’m sure you’re aware of the benefits of learning from others. Good Vs Bad All people are good in their own way. This means distinguishing between people who might suit you and your ‘purpose’ from those who probably won’t. It helps to motivate the conversation if you really want to know this person.
