My Montessori Journey: Free Downloads One of the questions I get most frequently from parents of my students is, "Is s/he playing with the other children?" I realize that a major reason that many parents send their children to preschool is to prepare them for kindergarten. A large part of that preparedness is what we often refer to as "socialization." First of all, in the preschool classroom children learn how to follow directions given by adults who are not their parents. In our classroom we focus on the following four group time behaviors: 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.) I have always had these same expectations for group time behavior. "Legs criss-cross, Legs criss-cross, Hands in your lap, Hands in your lap. This year for the first time I have added picture cards which correspond to our group behavior expectations. Download Picture prompts for line time behavior Another important social lesson learned during our group time is taking turns. Children in a Montessori classroom also learn turn-taking during our work time. Whew!

Actividades Infantiles y Educacion Preescolar en Primera Escuela Preschool Printing Practice [in Spanish] [Age Rating] [Introduction] [Printable Worksheets] Age Rating All children develop as individuals. Parents and caregivers should use the age ratings below as a general guideline, taking the abilities, temperament and interests of their children into account. Ages 4-5 Good exercise for children just starting to print their letters Gives a feeling of success to kindergarten students nervous about printing. Introduction Activities that develop a child's control of the small muscles of the hands (fine motor skills) allow children to make the precise movements necessary for forming letters and improve hand/eye coordination. If an aspect of a project is frustrating to the child, provide assistance - try to keep things fun. Take breaks, when necessary. Printable Worksheets The "lines" worksheets come up with a different set of images each time you load them for unlimited worksheets. Children should trace the line (from left to right) to match the animal to its habitat.

Preschool Learning Games For Kids Preschool Games Preschool Games Preschool Songs & Videos Young kids love learning with preschool games in a fun online academic setting. how we montessori I want to share these two Montessori activities with you because they are super easy to set up, they use items found around the house, they explore scientific concepts and they are fun! Both of these could be used with toddlers (be careful with small items) right through to preschoolers. Otis loves both of these. To begin with I look around the house for useful items - here I have collected; pinecones, sponge, feathers, wood piece, button, branch, metal screw, bull clip, small padlock, rock, mini wooden peg, paper clips, shell and a glass gem. I put all of these items into a basket. The first activity is a Montessori Sink Float Activity. For an older child like Otis (4 years) you can first ask them to predict (or hypothesize) if the item will sink or float and then allow them to test it. As many children love water play, this is often a very popular activity. The second activity is a Montessori Magnetic Non-Magnetic Activity. Both of these activities are really fun and simple.

Pool Noodle CVC Words Activity - Planning Playtime We’ve been hunting for fun ways to learn over the summer, and this Pool Noodle CVC Words Activity was a hit with my little reader. Blending sounds and putting words together can be a tricky thing to master, but my son was anxious to practice when I brought out a tub full of pool noodle letters. The idea is pretty simple. Take two pool noodles, in different colors, and cut a straight line to the center of each noodle all across the back. *This post may contain affiliate links for your convenience. Next, write the letters of the alphabet on the front of the slices, using one color for consonants and another color for vowels. Let the reading fun begin! They can keep track of their words by recording them on a sheet of paper in columns titled Real Words and Nonsense Words, or they can use a simple tally to show how many words they’ve made. The separate colors for vowels and consonants makes it easy for new readers to distinguish between the two and get that vowel in the middle.
