Open-source laser cutter This laser cutter/engraver utilizes the same electronics as a RepRap style 3-D printer for the motion and can be operated identically to a 1-layer high 3-D printer using Cura to create toolpaths from STL files and pronterface to run the gcode generated from Cura. Although any diode laser could likely be used, a jtech photonics 2.8 Watt diode laser and 2.5 Watt driver kit was used and can be found here. They have in depth instructions on the connections to a RAMPs board, and other common 3D printers should you want to adapt your current 3-D printer to add laser functionality as well. CONSTANT SIEGE The lesson we can all learn from pandas: if you’re gonna be dumb, you’d better be cute. April Fools’ Day was made irrelevant when we invented the Internet and switched to 24/7 International Fools’ Time. Each prison built is a temple to the failure of a society.

Victor Enrich Creates Playful And Surreal Architecture Fictions A few weeks back we posted about Filip Dujardin’s digitally manipulated buildings, which gave buildings found in and around Ghent, Belgium an Escherian spin. And since then we’ve come across another photographer, Victor Enrich, who likes to bend reality by turning architecture into surreal playgrounds by forming buildings that, while fiction, are sometimes reminiscent of Frank Gehry‘s iconic, if controversial, designs. Where Filip Dujardin’s manipulations were subtle and implausible in their re-imaginings, the images below are far more outlandish. Buildings are bent over like a concertina or plonked down on the beach, stairways lead off into the sky, high-rise apartments have grown bull horns, and houses are completely tipped over with roofs sitting at ground level. Below is a selection of some of Enrich’s more elaborate redesigns, head to Victor Enrich’s website for more fictions. @stewart23rd

merkley???: I May Not Be God, But at Least I'm Real. Last night some friends and I stumbled across a cop car with it's window down and nobody in it. We were completely unable to NOT prank it. We looked around for impromptu pranking materials and spotted some little baggies of dog poop which we gently placed onto the steering wheel.

Anthony Christian : History of Erotic Art "I paint for many reasons; one of them is to educate, and I hope by the beauty and integrity of my work that I may teach people the difference between pornography and great Art, and shatter the last shackles bonding those imprisoned by ignorance or hypocrisy."Anthony Christian English artist Anthony Christian (24 October 1945 - present) showed talent at an early age. At only 10 years of age, Anthony Christian was granted the privilege of studying the techniques of the Old Masters at the National Gallery in London. To this day, no other artist under the age of eighteen has been permitted to copy there. Throughout his time at the National Gallery and for a further seven years Anthony studied at length the works of Rubens and Rembrandt as well as other Old Masters.

Fine art Fine art, from the 17th century on, has meant art forms developed primarily for aesthetics, distinguishing them from applied arts that also have to serve some practical function. Historically, the 5 main fine arts were painting, sculpture, architecture, music and poetry, with performing arts including theater and dance.[1] Today, the fine arts commonly include additional forms, such as film, photography, conceptual art, and printmaking. However, in some institutes of learning or in museums, fine art and frequently the term fine arts (pl.) as well, are associated exclusively with visual art forms.
