In this post I’d like to explain why I choose to sell my products independently and show how easy it is for anyone to create their own site selling digital goods – whether it is Flash templates, WordPress themes, E-books, software, etc. First off, I have nothing against FlashDen . I think the whole Envato collection of sites is wonderful for the creative community. What I don’t like about FlashDen FlashDen has 200,000+ users. They tend to focus on quantity over quality Do you want to search through 1,172 Flash menus to find the right one to use in your project? It’s hard to market your files on their site When you release a new file on FlashDen you get brief exposure on their homepage in their “Recent” section. They price their site templates too low and they take a large cut of the sale I know, I know. How to sell your Flash templates or digital goods yourself

50 Great Examples of Data Visualization Wrapping your brain around data online can be challenging, especially when dealing with huge volumes of information. And trying to find related content can also be difficult, depending on what data you’re looking for. www. is deprecated. The Design and Implementation of Pie Menus There're Fast, Easy, and Self-Revealing. Originally published in Dr. Dobb's Journal, Dec. 1991. Although the computer screen is two-dimensional, today most users of windowing environments control their systems with a one-dimensional list of choices -- the standard pull-down or drop-down menus such as those found on Microsoft Windows, Presentation Manager, or the Macintosh. This article describes an alternative user-interface technique I call "pie" menus, which is two-dimensional, circular, and in many ways easier to use and faster than conventional linear menus. During that time, pie menus have been implemented by myself and my colleagues on four different platforms: X10 with the uwm window manager, SunView, NeWS with the Lite Toolkit, and OpenWindows with the NeWS Toolkit. Included with this article are relevant code excerpts from the most recent NeWS implementation, written in Sun's object-oriented PostScript dialect. There are many flavors or variants of pie menus.

Welcome to The Computer Graphics Society Apple Archives ~ Flyosity by Mike Rundle Entries From The Apple Category: Back when I was doing design work for clients, it seemed like my work would get re-purposed by fledgling and not-so-fledgling designers every month. Sometimes I'd get a tip in my email about a theft that someone saw, or sometimes the offenders would link the assets right off my client's website, but regardless of how I found out about the theft, it'd piss me off more than anything else. Lack Of Understanding A few friends and I were the co-founders of 9rules, one of the largest independent blog networks of its day. The dumbest thing about using the 9rules leaf logo for something other than 9rules is that the logo had a specific meaning. When companies steal a design made for something else, they skip the part where they toil over the design and develop a deep love and appreciation for it. "Here’s the problem with copying: Copying skips understanding. I really don't care about patents or trademarks or trade dress or any of that. 4. 5. 6. 7. Why is this?
