Sculpting the Mask Start off with some good reference images of the Predator head. Find the Predator design you want to base yours off of (they vary from movie to movie), or make your own unique design. After you have your reference, take the Styrofoam head and sculpt the Predator head on top of it. It's best if you have a larger foam head; a lot of them are pretty small. My mask ended up pretty small because I started with a small foam head. This is a video showing a time-lapse of my sculpt. The Hunter Takes Shape from Alex Walton on Vimeo. A note about cheap air-dry clay: it's cheap.

How to Make Fireworks There are many types of fireworks, where one of the most common in firework displays is the aerial shell. The aerial shell is used in fireworks displays, and can be either a round or a cylindrical shape. These aerial shells are loaded into tubes, called "mortars." Once lit, the aerial shell will fly into the air and once the aerial shell is at the higest point (apogee), it will explode and shoot pyrotechnic stars in all directions. In this instructable I will be talking about the procedure of assembling a round aerial shell. If I somehow throw around with a lot of foreign words or have any questions, feel free to ask me. First, let's see what a typical round aerial shell looks like:

Simple Longboard Last year my 13-year-old daughter asked for a skateboard, so I gave her my 20-year-old board (which wasn’t seeing much use). She liked to ride it along the bank of the Los Angeles River, and I would ride with her on a Razor scooter. But after a while, I started to miss having a skateboard, and I thought it would be fun to make one. I put it off for a few months, until I saw a video of Lloyd Kahn, the well-known maker and former geodesic dome guru, cruising down a gently sloped street (makezine.com/go/kahn). He’s 75 years old, and his skating skills are top-notch. This was the inspiration I needed to get off my butt and make my own longboard. I went online to look for plans. Here’s how I did it.

How to Build a Go-Kart in One Day - DIY Go Cart Plans Builder: Larry Erd, Pompano Beach, Fla.Plans: spidercarts.com "Black Widow" Cost: $689.15 1.) Plans and Parts Erd and his 7-year-old son, Harrison, used $14.99 plans for the "Black Widow" go-kart from spidercarts.com. Plans like these, whether they are free or require a fee, often give frame dimensions but leave steering, axle, throttle and cable connections up to the builder. 2.) Use a hacksaw or chop saw to cut metal stock to length. 3.) Weld an upper steering block to the top of the kart's steering post. Weld spindle brackets to the front corners of the frame. 4.) Weld bearing hangers to the bottom face of the frame's 10-inch rear legs. 5.) Buy accessories together with the engine to ensure compatibility. Loop chain around both sprockets. 6.) Attach brake and throttle cables to the left and right foot pedals. Start the engine with the kart on blocks to test the pedal connections. Make a seat by stapling vinyl and foam cushioning to plywood. Parts-Supplier Reviews

Soda Machine Hack Most modern vending machines have little computers inside. A tiny screen usually displays some information. Although relatively little known, pressing a certain combinations of buttons can control the settings. For instance, you can check the internal temperature, view the amount of money inside, empty change, or dump certain beverages. Press the buttons [4] [2] [3] [1] one after another. Once inside the buttons become controls for navigating the menu system. Button [1] – Back/ExitButton [2] – DownButton [3] – UpButton [4] – Select You should now be able to scroll through the available settings. Here are the descriptions of some of the settings you may run into: Pressing the coin return or back button also exits out of the setting menus. Although access to those settings is usually enabled, it is sometimes locked down by the owner or maintenance. CPO – Coin payment mode dumps coins out of the machine. DIY Sriracha a.k.a. Rooster Sauce Impress your Chili Head friends by busting out a bottle of this DIY Sriracha Chile Sauce! Sriracha as we know it today has been popularized by Huy Fong Foods and their big red "rooster" bottle (complete with a giant rooster logo and bright green cap, making it easy to identify in your fridge). But the sauce has a rich history and is named after a coastal city in central Thailand's Chonburi Province "Si Racha". Here is a version you can make in your own kitchen. It's not as spicy as the Huy Fong version, but it gives you major street cred -- especially if you bust out these swing-top stopper bottles with hand-carved chili-pepper stamp. This sauce has a great, addicting flavor -- hot, sweet and garlicky -- and just like the real "Rooster Sauce", it tastes awesome on just about anything. (recipe adapted from The Sriracha Cookbook by Randy Clemens) Ingredients: **Gloves** 1 3/4 pounds Fresno Chili Peppers, Red Jalapenos or Red Serrano ( I used Fresno) 3 Thai Chili Peppers 1 tbsp light brown sugar

How To Make Your Own Sugru Substitute pic2 shows a 2"x2"x2" solid silicone cube that cured enough in two hours to be removed from its plastic box form. For years I have been looking for an inexpensive way to create a flexible skin covering for robots and electronic circuits. I have tried several kinds of casting urethane rubber and silicone rubber. I and many others have tried using the inexpensive silicone caulk that is readily available from hardware stores. So I wanted to add a catalyst that would help the silicone to cure from the inside out rather than just from the outside in. As I understand it, 100% silicone caulk works by the moisture in the air initiating the polymerization of the silicone. I experimented with quite a few additives to try and introduce some moisture into the uncured silicone. It turns out that corn starch is highly absorbent and when sitting around in an open box it will absorb moisture from the air. So that's it.

How To Build A Fireball You Can Hold Video Fingerpicking Since fingerpicking requires the use of more than one finger on the right hand it can be a little more difficult than simple strumming. It’s really not that hard to do though and the results are well worth the practice it takes to get comfortable with it. In my style of playing I use the thumb, index finger, and middle finger. The middle finger always plays the 1st string; the index finger usually plays only the 2nd string (sometimes the 3rd); the thumb always plays the 3rd and 4th strings but can also play the 2nd string, just depending on what’s going on in the song at the time. Notice also in the picture that I usually rest my ring finger and pinkie on the surface of the ukulele just below the strings to anchor my hand and provide stability for the three fingers that are doing the picking. You can play fingerpicking patterns as accompaniment while you sing instead of strumming, or you can mix it up by strumming in some places in a song and fingerpicking in other places.
