How To Style Maiden Braids Last month I did a makeover story with Kelsie and had many requests for a maiden braid tutorial. Yesterday she came in and we photographed these simple step by steps. Kelsie has extremely long and thick hair, but anyone with shoulder length or longer can do these braids (see my photo below for an example). Steps 1-2: Braid two strands on each side of a center part. Steps 3-5: Wrap braids around the crown of your head and pin in place with one pin each. Step 6: Arrange braids so that they cover the front of your head like a headband. Steps 7-8: Pull the rest of the hair into a ponytail and pin it into a cute messy bun. Step 9: Add final pins and spray.

Homemade Sea Salt Spray Recipes for Hair Blake Lively. Kate Hudson. Megan Fox. Jennifer Aniston. These women are just some of the celebrities out there who sport the tousled, beach hair look. The trick behind creating beach waves is the mixing of sea salt with hair, causing it to look disheveled yet incredibly stylish. DIY Sea Salt Spray Recipe What You'll Need: You'll need 8 fluid oz of water to prepare this mixture. You'll need two teaspoons of coconut oil - it must be unscented and preferably organic (pure). Using coarse salt (2 teaspoons) as opposed to powdered, ensures that a controlled amount of this is sprayed onto one's tresses. Hair gel provides great hold - you'll need a teaspoon of strong-hold gel that doesn't harden upon application but remains stiff yet smooth (like Bain de Terre Firm Action Flax Seed Styling Gel or Eco Styler Olive Oil Styling Gel) post use. Ever toss away a hair spray bottle without a second thought? Easy-to-follow Instructions:

Head Scarf Tutorial - StumbleUpon After many requests, I finally made a tutorial on how to tie a simple head scarf. It's really, really easy. I did this without looking in the mirror, so that should tell you how easy it is. Let's get started! Start with a large, square scarf. Fold one corner to the other to form a triangle. Fold the corner down to about the middle, and then fold over again (but not all the way to the edge, because you want it to be a little thicker). Put the scarf around your head with the ends in the front, making sure the wrong side of the scarf (the part where you can see the folds) is against your head. Tie it in a loose knot at the front. Tuck the ends behind/underneath the scarf. Done!

How To Put Your Hair Up In A Cute Bun | Guide « Wonder How To Comb your hair carefully to eliminate any tangles or knots.Take some hair from the top of your head. 3. Tie off this hair with a hair elastic. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Sea of Shoes: HAIR HOW-TO I am sometimes asked how I style my hair, and while my method is far from perfect, I thought I'd show you how! My hair is pretty straight and fine naturally and I always let it air dry. Since I go about three days between washes, I like to curl it on the first day and let it mellow out into some nice waves over the next two. Let's get started! If your hair doesn't hold curl very well then you may want to put a palmful of curling mousse in it when it is halfway dry. First I comb out all of the tangles and apply a liberal amount CHI Iron Guard Protection Spray to prep my hair. (though I want to upgrade to one of the fancy new ones from Sultra soon!) When I'm done curling the bottom section, I mist it with Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode and comb through the curl with my fingers. Ahh!! If you want to dress it up a little, you can do a braided headband look! Find a spot on the opposite side of your head and pin it so that it blends in naturally with the rest of your hairstyle.

Land Girl Bandana Tutorial - or How To Cover Your Curlers - Alternatively Lovely - Rockalily Since writing this blog post, I have also made a video tutorial showing how to tie a bandana land girl style. This morning I posted a link to the Rockalily Facebook Page to show a photo of me (rather sleepily) wearing Rockalily Lipstick about to head out. Someone mentioned that they'd love to be able to wear a scarf in this style, so I said I would do a tutorial for them when I got home. Fast forward to the evening and here I am, doing a quick tutorial. I would describe the style as Land Girl inspired, vintage-esque and also Rockabilly I guess. Today I wore it this way as I have curlers in, but I also wear it in the more standard way too. So here is my attempt at a tutorial. Start with your bandana folded about three-quarters of the way in half. The folded side of the bandana is going to go along your neck, so the pointy bit comes over your forehead. You can see I still have my curlers in! Bring both of the ends together, making sure that middle point is underneath. Ta Dah!
