Giant Paper Rose Flower If you loved the beautiful DIY wedding this morning and Nata’s gorgeous paper flower bouquets, you are in luck as Nata is sharing how she crafted them with us! She was inspired by a template created by Morgan Levine on Martha Stewart (as was I in the flowers I created for this styled shoot). I just love that this basic idea has inspired different brides to create their own version of giant paper flowers – you might remember these equally awesome giant paper flowers from this wedding I shared last year. :) Thanks so much Nata for sharing how you created your giant pink paper rose + special thanks to Studio Castillero for the photos of the DIY + her wedding! Materials (to make one giant rose) Step 1: Cut the petals Cut 5-6 teardrop petals and 15-6 heart-shaped petals from the petal colored crepe paper. IMPORTANT: Crepe paper is directional so it matters which way you’re cutting the paper. Repeat until all of your petals are cut Step 2: Cut the leaves + calyx Step 3: Make the rose stem

Wedding Photography Blog DIY: How to make a dress out of a tank top and shirt Done! Last Tuesday I had asked for your help in deciding which DIY to do and you picked the Tank-Dress! I really enjoyed this DIY from my Cool Couture Remake Book! It was easy and well thought through, especially when they turned in the sleeves to use as pockets! BRILLIANT! I made two of the dresses mostly because I could not decide which shirt to use! Steps: A t-shirt is originally used in the book for this DIY for the main dress section but since it’s winter I decided to use a thicker shirt. Gallery PS. Let me hear what you think! Loading ... Functional Coat Hooks Made of Unlikely Upcycled Material Even if you have hooks or a hall tree by your front door, winter accessories tend to pile up quickly. All of the coats, hats, scarves, earwarmers and other cold-weather detritus can rapidly take over unless you make better arrangements. Those better arrangements are right here in the form of these clever paint can coat hooks from Instructables user Brian Jewett. The project is simple enough for almost anyone to pull off. The insides of the cans hold all of your smallish accessories like gloves and mittens.

DIY Doily Light: Simple Suspended-Sphere Lace Lamp Shade So simple a child could make it – and have fun in the process, too. And the result? A shining example of how light and shadow can work together to brighten up a room. Swedish craftswoman Isabelle Dos started with a simple party-shop balloon, blown up big and wrapped in white lace place settings painted with wallpaper glue. The soaked material sticks readily to the sides of the inflated sphere, overlapping to form a contiguous shell, suspended and left to dry overnight like a plaster cast. Pop the balloon and presto: a little cut in the top lets you drop in a bare bulb and create your own chandelier, potentially using whatever pattern you want (if lace feels a little too old-fashioned) to frame the outside and filter the light. DIY Sharpie Tie Die I love this Sharpie tie die DIY from The Art Girl Jackie blog! She did it with her adorable daughter and I think it’s a fun inspiration for this Spring and upcoming music festival season. Use this technique to spruce up your ratty t-shirts or maybe a pair of of cut off shorts. For another idea, check out how to spruce up your clothes with DIY leopard print here!
