Little Story Maker App: Listening, Reading, Customizing, Personalizing  I am completely impressed with the “Little Story Maker” App by Grasshopper Apps. (Thank you to Karen Lirenman, a first Grade teacher from Surrey, BC, Canada) I happen to visit my little niece in Canada this past week. Sophia is 8 years old and just moved to Canada 6 months ago from Brazil. In the app, we added a story. Then added the title of the story, added a cover image from the photo album and chose the template with the biggest image layout (I hope that a future update will bring more template layouts with multiple images as choices.) We kept adding pages with images and text for each page. The app allows you to have the book read to you, read it by yourself of set it to AutoPlay, which is really nothing new and most children’s book apps have the same feature. Where the customization comes in, is the fact, that you not only can enter you own text, then record your own voice (in any language of course) AND have individual words highlighted as it is being read! Top 100 FREE Apps for Kids! Our Top 100 Free Apps for Preschoolers could be more aptly titled "Every Free iPad/iPhone Preschooler App You Need To Know About." Since we started organizing the apps into specific developers, such as Disney or LEGO, the list has grown to 503 free apps. That is, as far as I know (and I would know), the most complete and exhaustive list of free apps anywhere. Everything is ranked by reader interest. Some of these apps include in-app purchases but they are noted, and for an app to make this list, it has to have enough free content to be worth downloading. This time we've also added little notations next to some of the apps to designate which of them are our staff favorites. Thanks again for visiting this page so much and if you have any notes to pass on about any of the apps, or ones we might be missing, please leave a comment. - Ron * Prices were all verified at the time of this posting, but only the app's developer can ultimately control the price. 1) ** Disney (79 apps!) 18) TVOKids (20)

Reflection app for PC : Show your iPad on your IWB screen There’s several ways to display your iPad onto your interactive whiteboard screen. I’ve written about a few ways to do that in the past., and wrote about the AirServer app yesterday. Reflection is an app that others have mentioned to me, but as I don’t have a Mac I’ve been unable to use it. Now there is a PC version available, so I downloaded the trial and had a look. I’m very impressed at the ease of install. I was able to show any app I was running via Airplay Mirroring, even video from BBC iPlayer with the audio coming out of my PC speakers. Couple this with a notation app such as Notability and you could use it as a basic IWB. Download reflection from here : You can get a limited trial version for free, and a single user version is $15/£10. Let me know what you think!
