Photography Tutorial: A Quick Guide to Understanding Your DSLR Camera Hi guys! With Labor Day weekend coming up, I know a lot of us are going to be out there taking pictures! :) Since we have a long weekend to practice, I wanted to share with you this basic intro to SLR photography. If you have an SLR camera and are nervous to take it out of auto mode, this is the tutorial for you. You may have heard words like aperture, exposure, and shutter speed and wondered just how on earth they come together to give you a better photo. Left: Canon T2i. To start, let’s put your camera in Aperture Priority mode or Shutter Priority mode. 1. Let’s talk a little bit about Aperture. Photos taken with a low aperture let in more light, allowing you to take pictures in situations where there is not much light (like indoors and at night). A low aperture will also give you a shallow depth of field. Canon 50mm f/1.8 f/1.8 1/200 sec ISO 800 In the photo above, the aperture was set to 1.8, a low aperture. Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 f/16 1/60 sec ISO 100 Now you try! Set your aperture. 2.

30 Foods You'll Never Have To Buy Again French Garlic Soup Home >> Recipes Simple and healthy garlic soup from the Provence. I found this healthy French garlic soup in the Larousse de la cuisine des familles, presented as a family recipe from a Provence mama. Wicked way of roasting whole garlic heads. Start with 4 garlic heads - 1 per guest as a light main course. Pour a large glass olive oil inside an ovenproof dish and place each half garlic head flat in the oil. Roast the oven for about an hour or until the garlic is soft throughout and nicely browned. ... and free the remaining half-cloves. The bottom halved will require some help with a pointed half to free the half garlic cloves. Place all the garlic cloves in large pot.

That time of renewed growth and warmer days that tends to draw us back outside and into nature’s waiting open arms. Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24: Chinese Buffet at Home It is no secret that I have an obsession with Chinese cuisine. The place that started it all was a local Chinese buffet here in Michigan. After frequent visits to the buffet over the years, I finally decided to take a stab at cooking my own Chinese dishes at home. The majority of the dishes were delicious and I began cooking different Chinese meals every week, but I had always wanted more variety just like the buffet. I had always wondered, “what if I could create a Chinese buffet at home?” In this article I will explain how to create your own Chinese buffet at home. A cupcake for every day of the month. The struggle. SCORE 119 The cone of happiness SCORE 114 I'll have a German Shepherd, shaken, not stirred. SCORE 114 Seriously, you won't regret it. My 2 cats are quite special. Pegman vs. Pineapple Tarts The pineapple jam does take some time to prepare, but do make sure that all the liquid has evaporated and you are left with a thick sticky mixture. There is another variation on Pineapple tarts which is done by rolling the pastry around little balls of the pineapple jam, which also look quite impressive! For the dough 200g butter, at room temperature 60g icing sugar 2 egg yolks 350g plain flour 2 tbsps cornflour Pinch salt 1 egg yolk, to glaze For the filling 2 x 400g tins sliced pineapple 175g sugar 1 tsp cornflour Prepare the filling first by thoroughly draining the pineapple, then blitz it in a food processor until smooth. Place the pineapple in a saucepan with the sugar and bring to a steady simmer, stirring until it becomes thick and any liquid has evaporated. Mix the cornflour with a teaspoon of water and pour into the pineapple mixture. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. When the pineapple filling has cooled, roll it into little balls and place in the centre of each pastry disc.

Dinner Menu Planning Made Easy Does the thought of menu planning for the week make you a little stressed? Well, I know it does for me if I’m not organized. I tend to get stressed out thinking out too far ahead. I like to sit down Sunday evening and look over recipes, figure out what sounds good for the week and decide what I am going to realistically have time for. Make your shopping list ahead of time (I find that keeping a list on my phone notes is very helpful). When making dinner for the week prep ahead any chance you can. Every now and then pick up a couple rotisserie chickens from the grocery store, shred them and place in ziploc bags. When chopping vegetables, while you’ve got your chopping board and knife out, chop extra and place measured out portions in Ziploc bags. Keep your refrigerator stocked with some basics so when you don’t have time to make a homemade gourmet dinner, you can grab some things to whip up quickly. and Other recipes you may enjoy...
