Money Gift Box Gift Box This box made from two bills. The bills/box can be the gift itself, but it is also just about the right size for a ring box. (Perhaps a dollar-bill ring?) Get yourself two fairly new, crisp bills. Older "soggier" bills are much harder to work with. Lay the bill on a flat surface, face up. Fold the note top-to-bottom just to the right of the portrait, then unfold. Starting at the top left corner (as illustrated), close the top third fold to about 90 degrees. Inside this corner will be a remaining portion that you will crease along the natural 45 degree line to complete the corner. Complete the previous step for the other three corners. For each tab, pull it inside the box, folding so that the natural edge of the box is pulled slightly over inside the fold. Do this evenly for both tabs. For the two other sides, evenly fold over the edge of the bill. You should now have an open box. I do not like the way that looks, so I close the box another way as illustrated below. Back
Free Printable Mason Jar Labels | Limeshot Logo Design & Branding Sydney So lately I find myself drawn again to jars (old obsession). And since I have bought quite a few of them recently, a revamping of the pantry was quite in order, complete with colourful labels and pretty patterns. Which I now offer to you for free download, should you feel the spring clean itch. If you use them, send us a pic, it’s always nice to see designs put to good use. Instructions I have included a whole lot of pantry items, but if you have some stuff I have not provided a label for, no worries: there’s quite a few blanks in there as well. I used both the labels and the bands for the 500ml jars, and only the labels for the 250ml jars. How to apply labels Print the required designs on a nice thick stock. The download links are at the bottom of the page, after the jar images. Terms and Conditions These designs are copyright of Limeshot Design. Download
Rick Rack Rosettes A friend gave me this flower ring and necklace, when she handed them to me I thought they were porcelain–there’s a very vintage feel to them. From a distance you really can’t tell that they’re made out of rick rack! Yes, rick rack! She shared how to make them with me, and now I’m sharing with all of you readers! First, cut 2 strips of rick rack. Then twist the two pieces of rick rack together, like this. And then run a stitch down one side to hold it all together. Like so. And to make the flower, you just start from one end and roll it up. Keep rolling. Until you have this–and then tuck the little tail under and hot glue it down. You’ll notice all of the petals are closed, so to open them up you just peel them back one by one. And here it is on my finger. Awesome. (Please excuse my hands, my hand model moved to Indiana, so I’m left using what I’ve got
Clay Imprinted Gift Tags While walking down the aisle of Michaels (where I always seem to inexplicably end up during my spare time), this clay stuff caught my eye. It’s called Crayola Model Magic. It’s made for little kids. I decided to make some gift tags. Materials needed: Crayola Model Magic clay, rolling pin, cookie cutters, mini alphabet stamps, wooden chopsticks, parchment paper (not pictured) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. You can also use this same technique to make Christmas ornaments! Not because the craft itself was a failure, but because what I intended was a failure. I think these turned out just beautiful, which is a good thing, but I also think they’re a little too beautiful for what I was going for. In one of the many fancy pants boutiques around the area, I came across a big bowlful of silk flowers. I happened to have a bunch of organza laying around from a series of failed projects, so I thought it would be perfect. So off to the etsy shop they go. Here’s what I did: Cut four or five flower shapes out of an organza. Hold each petal over a lit candle. Layer the petals together. Use a thread that matches the organza, and come up from the back of all but one layer. Honestly, I’m a little surprised I could make something so girly and pretty. edited to add: Wow, what a great response! Brides, if you’re interested in these just drop me a line.

Origami Flower Japanese Kusudama, this tutorial is featured on Craftuts Anyone can do that, I assure you. The proof: I can, just take a quick look at my result below. Below you can see my very first attempt to create paper flowers. What you will need to make your own Kusudama paper ball? 1. 3. 4. (optionally) I prefer torn paper instead of cut. You have to start with a single petal. Now you have to glue your 5 petals into a flower. Apply the glue to only one side of each petal, except for the last one, in this case cover both sides with glue. Your first flower is done. Don’t glue every petal right after you make it. When all 12 flowers are finished you have to glue them together. When two halves of Kusudama Flower Ball are ready you have to glue them together.
Creativity Prompt #22 – The “One-Sheet” Mini Album October 24th, 2008 by Avital This week’s Creativity Prompt is to make a cute mini album, or journal - what ever you wish to use that for - using a single sheet of cardstock and a couple of chipboard squares (or recycled cardboard…). For a special touch I covered the chipboard squares with fabric, and it turned out fabulous Supply - Instruction - Score the cardstock at: 3″, 6″ & 9″ (every 3″). If you happen to cut the cardstock in the wrong direction (e.g. cutting from top to bottom consecutively) don’t worry. Fold each score line in an accordion fold (once up and once down) until you are left with a 3″ by 3″ booklet. Enjoy!!! If you have any question, suggestion or remark – don’t hesitate to contact me – either leave a comment, use the contact form or start a new thread on the Creativity Prompt Flickr Group!!! I would also be very happy to see your own creations, so don’t be shy and share Tags: creativity, creativity prompt, Tutorial
