Google+ Google has released an updated Google+ iPhone app that is now available on all iOS devices, including the iPad. However, the update doesn't add anything new to the Google+ mobile app for iPhone, which has been available since mid July. The new release simply makes the app work on the iPad. It even keeps its original size, floating in a sea of blackness, although you can tap a "x2" button to magnify the app and view it in all its granulated iPad glory. Regardless of the fact that, for now, the app isn't any different on the iPad than on the iPhone (and, while we're at it, let's note that Google delivers a remarkably similar experience on the Google+ mobile app for Android, too), mobile apps are essential to the whole social-networking experience. The Google+ mobile app came out of the gate strong, due to its clean interface and Spartan design. How to Get Google+ Mobile App for iPad You can get the iPad app by downloading it through iTunes.

Geordi’s video-to-brain visor being built at MIT OK, so it’s going to be some time yet before Geordi LaForge video visors are high-street gadgets, but the underlying technologies are coming to fruition faster than I’d have ever expected. Via grinding.be we discover that a team at MIT have sussed a method for grafting a digital device to the optic nerve, enabling them to pipe electronically generated images direct the brain: The implanted chip, according to the MIT team behind it, features a “microfabricated polyimide stimulating electrode array with sputtered iridium oxide electrodes” which is implanted into the user’s retina by a specially-developed surgical technique. There are also “secondary power and data receiving coils”.Once the implant is in place, wireless transmissions are made from outside the head. These induce currents in the receiving coils of the nerve chip, meaning that it needs no battery or other power supply. [image by striatic] Be Sociable, Share!
LogMeIn Remote Access App LogMeIn, formerly known as LogMeIn Ignition, is an excellent remote access app for the iPad and iOS – that allows you to access and control your Mac and Windows PCs from the iPad. The app has recently had its name changed and has become a free app – it was previously a $30 app. There are a number of very good remote access apps for the iPad, but I think LogMeIn is the best of a very good bunch. The free app does not offer all of the powerful features of LogMeIn, but probably offers enough for most users. Here’s the rundown on what the free app provides and then the full set of features available to those who do an In-App purchase to upgrade to LogMeIn Pro for $39.99. I prefer having the full set of features, especially the unique and hugely useful ability to copy and move files between remote computers and the iPad and iOS devices. Here’s an App Store link for LogMeIn. The following two tabs change content below. Founder and Editor in Chief of iPad Insight.
Yes, You Can Have Your Mac and PC, too I bought my first iMac ten years ago, just after graduating from high school. He was Strawberry and his name was Bob. Sadly he met his demise when he was dropped by the USPS on the way to my college dorm and was never the same again. I did manage to collect insurance, however, and used that to fund the purchase of my first iBook, Rupert I. Yes, I’m sure if you’re a die-hard PC owner you may think the above statement is utter gibberish, and I should probably have myself committed. But though I spend most of my time on a Mac, I’m not opposed to PCs. As it turns out, my approach to the Mac/PC debate is pretty common. What underlies that statistic? I particularly like Ars Technica’s conclusion on the study: The takeaway here is that the number of Mac users in the US is growing, Mac users tend to prefer MacBooks to desktops, and they generally have more money to spend on Apple and other CE gear. iPhone & Android Calling Apps | Free International Calls | Vonage 14 Tips To Source and Create Great Content For Social Media Jeffbullas’s Blog A question I often hear is how do you create great unique content? What most people and companies don’t realise is that they have great content it just happens to be offline in Silos, files on computers that are waiting to be repurposed for online. It can be interviews or press releases that can be edited, summarized or combined. There are presentations you have used for clients, articles you have sent to clients, information from your suppliers that is sitting on your computer, there are training videos that could be edited for YouTube, videos taken at conferences. The core foundation for your content should be initially a blog as part of your own website’s domain, this will help with creating links that will improve your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to help you “get found online”. So there are 2 core activities to having great content: ”Repurposing Existing Content” of different types and mediums and “Writing New Content”. 5 Tips For Repurposing Off-line Content To On-line Content
