25 (more) clever ideas to make life easier . We heard you loud and clear. When we published our first list of clever ideas to make life easier last year, we received an overwhelming response. Hinduism About Hinduism: Oldest of the world's major religions. It evolved from the Vedic religion of ancient India. Though the various Hindu sects each rely on their own set of scriptures, they all revere the ancient Vedas, which were brought to India by Aryan invaders after 1200 BC. The philosophical Vedic texts called the Upanishads explored the search for knowledge that would allow mankind to escape the cycle of reincarnation. The Ajanta Caves – Ancient Temples Carved from Rock Two thousand two hundred years ago work began on an extensive series of cave monuments in Maharashtra, India. Over a period of hundreds of years, thirty one monuments were hewn piece by piece from the rock face. Then, some speculate around the year 1000AD, they fell in to disuse. Dense jungle grew around, hiding the caves away from human eyes.

With Maidens of Mystery - The artwork of Audrey Kawasaki Audrey Kawasaki is a Los Angeles-based painter, known for her characteristic works that are painted directly onto wood panels. Kawasaki studied fine art painting at the Pratt Institute in New York City, but left after two years without completing her degree. The emphasis that New York art standards put on conceptual art was at odds with her painting ideologies and was the reason for her leaving. The unique style that she renders to her artworks can be described as a fusion of eastern as well as western traditions such as Art Nouveau and Japanese Manga comics. Audrey’s paintings are portrayals of young, mesmerizing women who come across as innocent and tantalizing at once. Her use of subdued colors, misty backgrounds, and delicate embellishments creates a magical effect within her paintings.

Tea-time – Tea Steeper Design by Pengtao Yu Timely Steeping I am in love with the Tea-time tea steeper for its intuitive design and simplistic interaction between tea leaves, water and steeping time! A flipping action, akin to starting the timer, sets the tea making process into action. This Awesome Urn Will Turn You into a Tree After You Die You don't find many designers working in the funeral business thinking about more creative ways for you to leave this world (and maybe they should be). However, the product designer Gerard Moline has combined the romantic notion of life after death with an eco solution to the dirty business of the actual, you know, transition. His Bios Urn is a biodegradable urn made from coconut shell, compacted peat and cellulose and inside it contains the seed of a tree. Once your remains have been placed into the urn, it can be planted and then the seed germinates and begins to grow.

As a remedy (rather power-saver-option) the phone incorporates a double display. When in active use the AMOLED screen powers up in all glory and in standby mode the E-ink display gets active. This essentially means that the E-ink uses very little energy and the degree of transparency of the display shows how much battery is remaining.

Lackadaisy Expressions Boy, I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started this. I've had requests for some sort of expressions tutorial dating back a while now, so I figured, "Sure! I can explain expression drawing...and it'll be way better than all those tutorials out there that are nothing but charts of generic expressions. Meat I’m honored that this often shows up on the internet. Here’s the correct version, as published in Omni, 1990. "They're made out of meat." "Meat?" "Meat. They're made out of meat." How to Make Your Own Sun Jar and Save Money You've seen the Sun Jar and you love it. The trouble is the price. You can't just fathom paying $45 for each solar light. You'd be paying almost $500 to light up your garden and your rooms. That just doesn't make any sense!

and They're in Love: Magazine Lindsey Nebeker and Dave Hamrick each used to wonder if they’d ever find lasting love. Here’s how they came together—and how, side by side, they face the world. There are two bedrooms in the cozy Jackson, Mississippi, apartment: Dave Hamrick’s is like a dad’s den, with a striped beige armchair and a hanging map; Lindsey Nebeker’s is darkly girly, with spiky dried roses hung over a bed topped by a graphic leaf-print quilt. After work on any given evening, Dave and Lindsey are likely to be orbiting the home separately, doing their own thing. Dave may be flipping through magazines, pausing to stare fixedly at design details or leaning in to inhale the scent of the pages.
