Manifesto for the Content Curator Every hour thousands of new videos are uploaded online. Blog posts are written and published. Millions of tweets and other short messages are shared. To say there is a flood of content being created online now seems like a serious understatement. Until now, the interesting thing is that there are relatively few technologies or tools that have been adopted in a widespread way to manage this deluge. Educational Technology and Mobile Learning: The Best Tools and Apps for Flipped Learning Classroom July 25, 2014 Following the posting of "Managing iPad Videos in Schools" somebody emailed me asking about some suggestions for tools and apps to create instructional videos to use in a flipped learning setting. In fact, over the last couple of years I have reviewed several web tools and iPad apps that can be used in flipped classroom but the ones I am featuring below are among the best out there. 1- Educlipper Educlipper is a wonderful tool for creating video tutorials and guides to share with students. As a teacher you can create an Educlipper board for your class and share the link with them. Now that you have a shared space with your students, you can go about creating instructional videos using the iPap app of Educlipper.
How To Create A Sales Landing Page With WordPress If you want to sell your own product, you need a sales letter landing page to send potential buyers to either from your own site, via affiliates or via PPC search engine marketing. Landing page template can help you improve conversions and drive sales. A landing page is a page on your site that you send traffic to with a specific goal and target in mind. The aim of a landing page is to convince a visitor to signup for a mailing list for example or to buy a product. Generating leads and customers is usually the biggest challenge for any blogger or content marketer and landing pages serve this purpose well as they are stripped down, simplified and focused on one objective. It is difficult to convert someone straight off your traditional looking home page on their first visit.
How to Connect With Other Teachers in the Social Age In the 2012 Primary Sources Survey conducted by Scholastic and The Gates Foundation, teacher respondents claimed to spend only about 4% of each day collaborating with colleagues, while 44% of teachers surveyed responded that they would like that collaboration time to increase. Traditionally, the teaching profession has been an isolating one—if you’re not spending every minute at school teaching classes, tutoring during your breaks, or covering someone else’s class, then you’re likely spending that time disciplining, administrating testing, or scrambling to the microwave to reheat leftovers during your 15-minute lunch break. In addition, as state and district mandates swing from one end of the pendulum to the other, teachers are so completely overwhelmed with trying to follow all of the rules that they are left with no time to develop themselves and their practices. Feeling isolated and crunched for time used to mean that teachers weren’t able to collaborate.
Definizione di Content Curation Curation has always been an underrated form of creation. The Getty Center in Los Angeles is one of the most frequently visited museums in America – and started as a private art collection from one man (J. Paul Getty) who had a passion for art. Aside from a few well known examples like this one, however, the term curation has rarely been used outside of the world of art … until now. Science ks1 & ks2 teaching resources The current national curriculum programmes of study for science at key stages 1 and 2 have been disapplied with effect from 1 September 2013 for pupils in years 3 and 4 and are no longer statutory in relation to those year groups. This means that schools are free to develop their own curriculums for science that best meet the needs of their pupils, in preparation for the introduction of the new national curriculum from September 2014 Science remains a compulsory national curriculum subject at all 4 key stages, and the existing programmes of study and attainment targets remain statutory for pupils in years 1, 2, 5 and 6 in 2013 to 2014, because they will underpin the statutory key stage 1 and 2 tests in 2014 and 2015. New statutory programmes of study and attainment targets will be introduced from September 2014 for all year groups except years 2 and 6: for those year groups, the new curriculum will take effect from September 2015.

History The power of color in direct marketing Color is one of the most powerful elements of design for direct mail, ads, and other marketing materials. Why? Because color is a form of nonverbal communication. Research has shown that color increases brand identity, assists in memory, increases a reader’s participation in ads, and improves readership, learning, and comprehension. This is a complicated subject and is worthy of a dozen posts, but I’d like to cover just three important points about why color choice is so important. Color carries meaning through association.

Executive Director, Edcamp Foundation and Founding Edcamp Board Member Web Application 1 As the web becomes more and more inundated with blogs, videos, tweets, status updates, news, articles, and countless other forms of content, “information overload” is something we all seem to suffer. It is becoming more difficult to weed through all the “stuff” out there and pluck out the best, most share-worthy tidbits of information, especially if your topic is niche. Let’s face it, Google definitely has its shortcomings when it comes to content curation and the more it tries to cater to all audiences, the less useful it becomes. The demand for timely, relevant content that is specific to our unique interests and perspectives has given rise to a new generation of tools that aim to help individuals and companies curate content from the web and deliver it in a meaningful way. These new tools range from simple, application-specific types such as social media aggregators and discovery engines, to more complex, full-blown publishing solutions for organizations.
