Color Theory for Designers, Part 1: The Meaning of Color - Smashing Magazine Color in design is very subjective. What evokes one reaction in one person may evoke a very different reaction in somone else. Sometimes this is due to personal preference, and other times due to cultural background. This is the first in a three-part series on color theory. Warm Colors Link Warm colors include red, orange, and yellow, and variations of those three colors. Red and yellow are both primary colors, with orange falling in the middle, which means warm colors are all truly warm and aren’t created by combining a warm color with a cool color. Red (Primary Color) Link Red is a very hot color. Red can be associated with anger, but is also associated with importance (think of the red carpet at awards shows and celebrity events). Outside the western world, red has different associations. In design, red can be a powerful accent color. Examples The dark shades of red in this design give a powerful and elegant feel to the site. Tutorials: Damn Vulnerable Web Application Hello and welcome. Today I’ll be writing a tutorial on the basics of web-hacking. To make the learning experience more enjoyable we’ll be using ”Damn Vulnerable Web Application (DVWA)” which is designed as a web security learning platform. I will only be demonstrating three scenarios which lead to a server compromise: (1) Persistent XSS + IFRAME, (2) Command Execution and (3) MySQL Injection. Ok let’s get to the good stuff, I’ll be using two VM’s: Attacker: Backtrack 5 => Victim: Windows XP => Cross Site Scripting, isn’t always appreciated as a legitimate attack vector but as we’ll see persistent XSS can have some nasty implications. Sign Guestbook Ok so far so good, now let’s set up a client-side exploit server for our unsuspecting victim to connect to. Perfect, everything is set-up. Victim (2) Command Execution If we browse to the ”Command Execution” tab we are presented with a small PHP utility that allows us to ping remote machines. php transfer
