[US] Conservation Research Laboratory - TAMU The Conservation Research Laboratory (CRL), directed by Dr. Donny L. Hamilton, is one of the oldest continuously operated conservation laboratories that deals primarily with archaeological material from shipwrecks and other underwater sites. CRL deals with large complex archaeological projects year-round and consists of two laboratories: one is used primarily to teach conservation classes to students at TAMU; it is also equipped to conduct conservation of small inorganic and organic artifacts. All kinds of artifacts are treated at CRL, from those made of iron, copper, brass, or pewter to those of wood, leather, glass, or ceramic. Need artifacts conserved?? Il assume quatre missions principales : - La fouille : Opérateur agréé par le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, il effectue annuellement une dizaine d'opérations d'archéologie préventive portant sur le territoire communal. - La publication : Inaugurée par la parution de l'Atlas historique, en 1996, la série des publications scientifiques du site se prépare et fait l'objet de nombreuses collaborations. - La gestion et la conservation des collections : Un poste est affecté à la gestion des collections et la maintenance du dépôt archéologique. - La socialisation : La diffusion des connaissances auprès d'un très large public s'organise autour du projet "archéologie, territoire et citoyenneté".
