Ian Knot, Ian's Fast Shoelace Knot

Ian Knot, Ian's Fast Shoelace Knot
I tie my shoelaces with my own "Ian Knot", the World's Fastest Shoelace Knot: Make a loop with both ends and simultaneously pull them through each other to form an almost instant knot. Don't confuse this with the very similar looking Two Loop Shoelace Knot - the technique is quite different and much faster. It's a truly revolutionary way to tie your shoelaces! Please don't be put off by these detailed instructions - even the Standard Shoelace Knot looks tricky when illustrated! Step 1: Tie a Left-over-Right Starting Knot as shown, then hold the laces as pictured. Step 2: This move creates two loops, one with the loose end behind, the other with the loose end in front. Step 3: This next move crosses the two loops over each other. Note that the diagram at left shows somewhat exaggerated crossed loops. Step 4: This tricky move requires each hand to use the two fingers inside its own loop to grab the loose end of the other hand's loop. Step 5: Step 6: Finished Knot Rate This Shoelace Knot

How to Freeze Your Jeans & "Clean" Them Apartment Therapy Videos Previous image Next image This is where the magic happens! I recently bought my first pair of "serious" jeans. The reason I know this is because as I was standing at the register about to pay A LOT of money for them, a cool dude who was standing next to me at the register said, "Oh, you're going to like those." "Do you have a pair?" It was at that moment that the woman behind the register piped up and explained that they only "get really good" when they're not washed. And then she said, "But I freeze mine when they start to feel dirty." Now I felt as if I were really entering a new land. Apparently, although I'm new to this, washing jeans is really verboten and freezing has popped up as one alternative. What do you do?
