Easy DIY Wedding Programs Tutorial
Posted on April 27, 2009 by Christina By Amanda Colyer For our DIY Wedding programs, I wanted to keep it simple and inexpensive, but still provide my guests with some entertainment. I decided on fan programs — with a fun twist — after seeing some great examples on the web. Materials for DIY Wedding Programs: - A2 sized folded cards (or card stock cut to size and folded) - Golf pencils , pre-drilled with holes wide enough for ribbon to pass through - Popsicle sticks , also pre-drilled - Scissors - Needle with a large eye - Corner Rounder Punch - Thin ribbon - Double Sided Tape Note: A2 is a great size because there’s room for content, but they’re not so big that they’re floppy. Designing my programs was a snap with Microsoft Word. I had tons of ideas for games that I ran out of time to use. Once you’ve designed your programs (making sure to fit the card dimensions), print the front and back onto the outside of the cards. and had no problems. Close the card, pressing to seal the edges.

DIY | will you be my bridesmaid? » Something Turquoise {daily bridal inspiration} Something Turquoise {daily bridal inspiration} I am in love with today’s DIY. It’s a very special way to ask your besties to be a part of your special day! Don’t just blurt it out… “Will you be my bridesmaid!!??” Take time to plan something nice for your friends… they are going to have to put up with your every demand for the future months. Pin Start by marking lines on the top of your box to create guides for stamping. Since our stamping is aligned at the right, I started stamping from the right side; or backwards. If your box top is like mine, it might sag a little towards the middle… make sure you apply even pressure with your stamp. I always like to test out each stamp along the way… check twice and stamp once. Keep stamping until it reads, “Will you be my…”. Since the box had a slight texture to it, I had to fill in some little spots with a fine black marker. When your ink is finally dry, carefully erase your guide lines. Now we are going to start wrapping! Now, prepare your tissue paper. So cute!!! Now we will tie the outer bow.

Top 5 Friday: Upcycling Ideas (Start As One Thing, End As Another!) - Style Sheet Whether you call it upcycling, reusing, refurbishing or reimagining, today's Top 5 Friday is all about finding decor inspiration and doing it yourself. Headboard From Wooden Skids (aka Pallets) This idea came courtesy of Julia Black from Pure Design, who hosted a video series for us called The Green Geek. Watch how she transformed three skids and some salvaged wood into a beachy white headboard for a queen size bed (three skids are the perfect size!). Large Wooden Spool Turned Art Table/Coffee Table Image: Design*Sponge I was actually inspired last night at the bus stop (in front of a condo construction project) by four large wooden spools just sitting around, just the perfect size and shape for my current coffee table conundrum. LA Fitness dealt a knockout blow over unfair gym contracts | Money It was one of the most distressing cases of a reader in trouble that Guardian Money has ever had to deal with. But it resulted in an overwhelming outpouring of generosity from readers that led – belatedly – to a humble apology from the company at the heart of the storm. What's more, gym-goers across the UK may benefit as the Office of Fair Trading promises a crackdown on unfair contracts. It began last Saturday when Guardian Money's consumer champions published a letter from a reader, Hannah, in Essex, a heavily pregnant woman whose husband had just lost his job. She had written to us in desperation having reached breaking point over a dispute with gym chain LA Fitness, after moving 12 miles away, and she didn't drive. "We are now on benefits. The couple had 15 months left to run on their contract with the gym and were finding it impossible to pay. But within hours of publishing the story, emails started to arrive in our inbox, then the phone calls started and the letters came.

DIY Bridesmaids Cards | DIY Wedding Blog I love the idea of formally asking those whom you would like to be in your bridal party. I sent out a cards for my own wedding so that inspired me to come up with a cute project to do the same. I adore the paper chain people that we all learned to make in grade school and this project uses that simple concept to introduce your bridesmaids to everyone. Cut out the shape of the dress you plan on using in the color you desire and personalize each person with some paper hair. To complete the set I created a little card asking “Will you be my bridesmaid?” Enjoy! Anna of Rifle Design Supplies: 1. craft paper (for clothes & hair), 2. paper for bodies, 3. envelopes, 4. ruler, 5. scissors, 6. pencil, eraser & a glue stick Directions: First, be sure that your chain will fit in the envelope you chose. Cut out your rectangle and score the paper vertically between each set of tick marks. On the top of the stack draw the shape of your person. Resources: Martha Stewart 18″x18″ craft paper
