Printing Personalized Post-It Note Messages

Printing Personalized Post-It Note Messages
Several months ago I discovered the surprising (to me!) fact that you can actually PRINT ON POST-IT NOTES using your own home printer. Recently I ran across a similar, but MUCH SIMPLER method for printing personalized messages on post-its, and I couldn’t wait to try (and share) the idea again. Kelly at Studio DIY used this method to print out a cute “Happy Anniversary” greeting. Unfortunately I found this the DAY AFTER my anniversary. :-) But the idea could be used in SO many other ways! How about an “inspirational message of the week” for the refrigerator? Kind of fun huh? Here’s the simple “How-to”: Open any program on your computer that you can manipulate text with. Now put the paper with the post-it notes on it back into your printer and re-print the exact same page again. Now you can just peel off your perfectly printed post-its and stick them wherever you feel like posting a unique, colorful, and removable message! Never miss a good thing!

how to create fake calligraphy I have always loved beautiful calligraphy. Years ago, my former boss brought me back a calligraphy pen and ink from her trip to Italy. I was so excited to try it out and figured it would be super easy to turn my handwriting into calligraphy with just the flick of a nib {that’s the technical term for the metal pieces that go in the pens – not to be confused with my go-to treat, the twizzler nib}. It didn’t go so well. Then I met Lindsay {of Lindsay Letters – who created that fabulous O Holy Night print } and figured since she is a pro, she could surely give some pointers and it wouldn’t be too hard. Again, the pen and ink proved too complicated for my impatient hands {have you ever tried it? I have yet to learn how to use a real calligraphy pen {although it is on my list of skills to master someday} and have just stuck with my fake calligraphy technique. First, choose a good fine tip ink pen. Now, write your letter. See how easy it is? Here’s another example. then filled in the down strokes:

DIY - Danielle and Joe 10910 Wedding Dress Label - My Something Blue This is technically not my DIY but my mom made it for me and I designed it so it made the cut for this page. We got a square from my wedding dress to use for the fabric and then my mom hand stitched the text. I am planning on having my seamstress sew it into the inside of my dress for my something blue. Honeymoon T-shirts! Joe and I wanted matching t-shirts for the HM...yep we are that couple :)...not as bad as having a set for each day but we decided on making two pairs total. (Haha, whew, I didn’t realize how many there were until I started attaching the links. But today, the old (too short) angora wool sweater becomes a sling purse.. And I think that this sweater is much happier out in the cool fall air, rather than in my stuffy dark closet. Don’t you agree? It really is a great cozy little companion for any sort of outing. The bottom of the purse adorns the ribbing from the bottom of the sweater……as well as each side of the strap. .

Backlit Canvas Art Do you have one project that you've been longing to do, but just haven't found the time yet? This is it for me. I call it my Backlit Canvas Art and the inspiration piece has been pinned in my "Crafts to try" Pinterest board for ages. My "pin"speration is an artist's piece made from metal that has hand cut flowers all over it. So I decided to give it a go and create my version. There are two main differences between the two: 1. 2. The idea of the canvas is that during the day (ie. with the Christmas light off) you have a beautiful sculpture while at night (you guessed it, with the Christmas lights on!) How about a tutorial? Supply list Mounted canvas (mine is 10"x10") cardstock to fit on your canvas (mine is 12"x12") stamps ink pad X-acto knife light source* *I wasn't sure if I wanted to use a single bulb or Christmas lights so that is why both are in the above picture. I decided to go with the same flower theme as my inspiration piece. I randomly stamped various flowers across my cardstock.
