2014s Key Men’s Hairstyle Trend Introduction We haven’t seen many new trends or dramatic changes within men’s hair over the past few years. Hairstyles have been tweaked here and there but overall, classic cuts have been in fashion for a while now. Last season the 1990s-inspired look was everywhere – it seems fashion and hair has got a bit of its edge back. This is further emphasised by the fact that a large proportion of men are now sporting exaggerated hairstyles with extremely short and tight sides with longer, often disconnected, length through the top. So, what’s going to be the ‘next big thing’ in men’s hair?

Victor Enrich Creates Playful And Surreal Architecture Fictions A few weeks back we posted about Filip Dujardin’s digitally manipulated buildings, which gave buildings found in and around Ghent, Belgium an Escherian spin. And since then we’ve come across another photographer, Victor Enrich, who likes to bend reality by turning architecture into surreal playgrounds by forming buildings that, while fiction, are sometimes reminiscent of Frank Gehry‘s iconic, if controversial, designs. Where Filip Dujardin’s manipulations were subtle and implausible in their re-imaginings, the images below are far more outlandish. Buildings are bent over like a concertina or plonked down on the beach, stairways lead off into the sky, high-rise apartments have grown bull horns, and houses are completely tipped over with roofs sitting at ground level. Below is a selection of some of Enrich’s more elaborate redesigns, head to Victor Enrich’s website for more fictions.

YLM vol iii pp303/314 - Folk-Medicine (Moore) [From Yn Lioar Manninagh Vol 3 pp303/314] The methods resorted to by our ancestors for the cure of diseases may be divided into two categories. The first comprises those remedies which were employed for wholly superstitious reasons, and the second those which, though magical rites were not wholly discarded, were, for the most part, connected with the use of wholly discarded, herbs. Let us then, accordingly, divide our account of Manx Folk medicine into two parts, the first dealing with superstitious remedies. The reason for many of the superstitious methods of cure are absolutely unintelligible until the primitive conceptions of disease and death are understood. It is almost certain that primitive man was quite unable to conceive the idea of disease and death arising from natural causes.
