Hello!Lucky Baby Saturday was Jude’s first birthday party, and what a fun little fête it was! We served fresh popcorn in vintage style popcorn boxes, sugar cookies frosted with royal icing (so fun to paint!) and delicious cupcakes with chocolate frosting with little flags made from ribbon and satay sticks – classic birthday treats! Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh Name: Adele (10 months)Location: United States For Adele's room, Greg and I wanted something fun, bright, and cheerful, and a little bit geeky/steampunk without taking over the room with nerdiness (we'd considered, and dismissed, Portal, Mario, and pirate-ninja). I quickly latched onto a cheerful (5-legged) octopus image I'd seen somewhere and a bedding set that mixed a bunch of contrasting but color coordinated prints in a very fun way.
Carnival Caper Birthday This contemporary “Carnival Caper” birthday party looks like so much fun – it makes me want to jump right into the pictures! Commissioned and organized by Bianca of Peekaboo Magazine (an Australian publication) and designed by Sharnel of Australia-based Sharnel Dollar Designs, the fabulous sweets table is filled with lots of bright colors and an aura of whimsy that’s conjured up through fun touches like vintage wind-up toys, creative “risers” created from rolls of circus tickets, and wooden spoons and labels that read “Eat Me!” and “Drink Me“. Read on for more fun pics and all the details, as told by Sharnel…
Twig & Thistle I’m so excited to share my Oscar printables for this year! I wasn’t sure if I was even going to do them but I’ve been getting a ton of requests for them and I got really excited about updating the set. The theme this year is black, white, gold and kraft paper. I know, super original, but I think the design is a playful mix of formal and slightly rustic hints. This year’s entry contains invites, paper oscar statuettes, popcorn boxes, drink tags and of course ballots; everything you need to throw a red carpet party in style!
Modern Circus Soirée Fun, festive, modern, playful, cute… this colorful Circus Soirée that Michelle Thornton created for her son’s first birthday celebration has it all! Better yet, Michelle was able to find that perfect balance between a whimsical, kid-friendly party that’s occasion-appropriate, and a stylish atmosphere that adults will find appealing as well… Read on for LOTS of photos and all the details, as told by Michelle… For Darrian’s first birthday, I wanted to throw a fun party that featured bright primary colors and an animal/carnival theme. I also knew I wanted in a park, which would be a fun space for all the kids to run around and play.

a creative mint Hello, Last spring I was busy painting some watercolor patterns for Cloud9 Fabrics. They had contacted me after seeing some of my work online and I was thrilled to work with them. They were interested in printing some of my watercolors on an organic cotton voile. Voile is a very light and very soft fabric. It is also slightly sheer which works nicely with a watercolor pattern.
