Birthday Board Here ya go - - a Tutorial on how to make a Birthday Board! I guess it's about time I do a craft post for ya - I've enjoyed the break but am ready to show you some things that I've been up to - and I'm sure you're ready to read actual craft posts, since this is a craft blog and all :) I made this Birthday Board for Trevor's mom - Trevor is one of 9 kids, so there's a lot of them! Instead of doing the whole family's birthdays, I just did the grandkids and great-grandkids. The way it works is each disk represents a child. I originally pinned this idea from a link on etsy, and HERE's the Link!! You can search google or pinterest for "birthday board" and come up with lots of different ideas and variations. I liked the one with the wooden circle disks, and I found them in a bulk pack at Michaels - here's the package bag in case you go to look for them. There are tons of ideas on how to hook everything together. So go ahead and grab a discarded board and whip yourself up a birthday board.
Red Velvet Brownies - freutcake This weekend I temporarily lost my baking mojo. I burnt a batch of caramel, ruined shortbread and my pizza dough was a disaster. What was happening? photo by Freutcake Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies Red Velvet: 1 stick unsalted butter, (8 Tbsp) melted 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 cup cocoa powder Pinch salt 1 tablespoon red food coloring 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar 2 eggs 3/4 cup all purpose flour Cream Cheese: 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup sugar 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Brownie layer: Add melted butter to a large bowl and add sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, salt, food coloring, and vinegar, mixing after each addition. Cream cheese layer: Blend together cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl. To store: wrap remaining brownies in saran wrap and keep in fridge.

Make This - Stab Bound Journal - Luxe DIY - How Did You Make This? Make a hand bound journal with elaborate side stitching for yourself or as a gift. The stitching is a lot easier than it looks and is so much nicer to hold than a spiral bound edge. Supplies and Equipment – sharp utility knife and cutting surface BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE SHARP BLADE – rulers – drill with 1/16th inch bit OR a small paper punch BE VERY CAREFUL WITH POWER TOOLS – fancy cover paper – I used Cavallini Vintage Tickets Wrapping Paper – 20″ x 28″ – 1 sheet of 8.5×11 for endpapers (this can be fancy or the same paper as your pages) – 10 sheets of 8.5×11 paper for pages – 3 yards of embroidery floss – mat board – I used Crescent No. 33 White & Cream Smooth Mat Board – Yes Stikflat Glue or other archival glue that leaves paper flat – heavy object to use as a weight – waxed paper – cutting/hole punch template – click here to download – thin cotton or linen fabric (optional) – needle with an eye large enough to fit embroidery floss – brush for glue Stitch down through the next hole.

I saw a plastic grocery bag next to me and then this idea popped up. I think.. well, give it a try. With some trials and errors, my little jellyfish comes alive just like I thought it would be. : ) When daddy and son first saw it, they’re surprised with their jaws wide open. Things you need to make your own jellyfish (Hope you can find all these in your kitchen) : 1. Instruction: • Flatten the bag and cut off the handle and the bottom part (see picture 1) • Cut along both sides (see picture 2) to split into 2 plastic sheets – by the way, we only use just one of them. • From the center of the plastic sheet, fold it like a tiny balloon to make the head part and tie it with the thread – not too tight (see picture 3). Silk-Dyed Eggs {aka TIE-Dyed!} I posted this tutorial a few years ago and it has become somewhat of a tradition to bring it back every year! One of our family Easter traditions is dying eggs with pieces of silk. I saw a cute lady show Martha how to do it a few years ago and I ran upstairs right then to steal a tie! Here’s the run-down: You need 100% silk for this to work. I try to find an assortment of colors and patterns. Usually it will tell you if it’s 100% silk right on the main label of the tie, but a lot of them don’t, and if that’s the case, check that little tiny end, it’s usually hiding there. The first step is to deconstruct the tie. Next you cut a piece large enough to cover an egg. Now, notice how I tied the eggs in the above photo- with the tie on the top of the long side of the egg. However, if you want the best part of the design on the wide side of the egg, you’ll want to wrap them horizontally, like this: Just wrap them as smoothly and tightly as you can for the best transfer. Gorgeous. Love it?

you knew i was going to make one. they are all over pinterest....(i still am not signed up for pinterest because i don't have time for one more thing but browsing is fun!) so we made one. i took a box of 64 crayons and took out the blacks and browns.i used another small box and doubled up on the good colors i liked and hot glued them to the top of our canvas. then we turned our blow dryer to hot on high. not long after you set the hair dryer by the crayons they get shiny and then the wax starts to melt! and it dries really quickly too. seriously. what could be happier than this?? GREAT project. loved it today is the first FULL day with ALL my kids in ALL day school.yeah...i am smiling as i type that. it's good. it's quiet. i am rockin' it. removing wallpaper.....making code for craft weekend stuff.....doing my hair....going to lunch..... it's all good. hooray for school!
Flower Pancakes If you’re making pancakes for Mother’s Day here is a simple way to make them extra special. All you’ll need is a squeeze bottle. I cut the tip of mine a bit to allow for a larger opening. Forming, or drawing, the flowers is fairly simple. Start with the center, put one dot of batter in the center of the pan and wait a brief moment, then put another dot just next to it, wait, and another that touches them. Draw one petal and fill it in with batter, then draw the next petal. Lastly draw a leaf and fill it in. Since these take a bit longer to make it’s a good idea to put a plate in your oven and set it to warm to keep your pancakes until you’re ready to present them. How to Recycle Tic Tac Box Video - 5min.com Hi stampers! In a small effort to go green, reduce, recycle, reuse. I am going to take this old TickTack box. That is not that old actually, I bought it and then one day they were gone because they are addicting. But I cleaned it all out. I washed it up. So, I have a workshop coming up and I though I would do a little host gift for her. Okay, next I am going to make a little frame. Photo Tile Coasters {Using Resin} Last Christmas I almost had a breakdown... We had just moved in to our home the month before, but I didn't want to let that prevent us from having the holliest jolliest Christmas. My intentions were good. I wanted to make Christmas special for everyone, but I learned the hard way that I should have been planning ahead!! And that's how it happened. Well, with this project I created an anniversary gift AND a Christmas gift. While I was in Utah, my sweet cousin Michelle showed me a couple of projects using resin. Here's how I made these photo coasters... I started out with a trip to Home Depot. Next, I ordered some photos. Only 13 cents a print at Costco! I used a regular old Elmer's glue stick to paste each picture onto the tiles. I won't give a full tutorial on using resin because each product is a little different. After mixing the resin with the hardener, I just poured it on! Then it took them a full 24 hours to harden up! All done! Now these are stinkin' cute!! Happy weekend!
