Paintings for sale by Thijme Termaat A lot has changed for me since I released my shortfilm 'I Paint', in early 2012. I had not foreseen that it would reach so many people from all over the world. So I took the time to anticipate on the developments and mold it into a workable construction, in order to regain some structure in my daily life. This website is a great part of that, and I hope that you'll enjoy the new material that is presented to you. Also, it is now possible to download large 1500pixel images of my work, and new original pieces are up for sale. I'm still in the process of making prints of my work available, and I hope to be able to offer them worldwide in the upcoming months.

some kind of blog for friends and likes I shot some watches for Louis Vuitton in Paris a while ago. A polaroid from something Im working on right now. There is so much to say about process. I have been thinking a lot lately. How things end up the way they do. Lined Up After successful solo shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Barcelona, along with an impressive installation at Parque Lage in Rio, artist Tofer Chin brings his first show, “Totally,” to New York’s Lu Magnus Gallery. Chin, utilizing a combination of photography, painting, and sculpture, works with a keyhole perspective that draws the viewer in by only seeing a portion of what’s behind, forcing him or her to question their sense of perspective. The lines is his painting “31 White Lines on Black” appear to jump out at you, just as the stalagmites of his sculpture “23 White Stalagmites on White” seem to jut out of the wall. The exhibition, which runs through March 25, is filled with blacks, whites, and neons, is evocative of the 80’s skate culture native to Chin’s Southern California.

Is this really a sculpture? So, you are wondering what is so special about this man’s face? It is a hyperrealist sculpture by Jamie Salmon, who uses materials such as silicone rubber, fibre glass, acrylic and human hair. Incredible detail! Also see: The Hyperrealist Sculptures of Ron Mueck colour comparisons i felt like these deserved a re-post! you see, i have been going through my archives and i rediscovered these Period Drama vs Street Style colour comparisons that I did way back in 2011 for Hila (you can see the original posts here and here). i never actually posted them all here so i thought i’d share. and, damn, i did pretty well if i do say so myself! Hila and I share a great appreciation for period dramas, she even wrote a book about screen adaptations of classic literature. she also wrote this marvellous post for me in 2012 about the locations of some of her favourite period films.

Wood you believe it? The stunning artwork created on burned layers of maple By David Baker Updated: 14:10 GMT, 26 February 2012 The artist behind these stunning pictures must be barking mad to spend months at a time perfecting one piece of art. But Julie Bender is happy to take her time to carve out a career with these unusual but breathtaking pictures. Using nothing but alternating heats 54-year-old Julie gradually burns away at thin layers of maple wood, producing the different shades and tones in these incredibly detailed works. She stumbled upon her talent ten years ago when she decided to start burning pictures into wood, despite never having never seen the technique used before. Who's a pretty boy then: Self-taught artist Julie Bender, uses nothing but heat and wood to produce these stunning works - gradually burning away layers of maple wood to create different shades and tones
