Dès le primaire, les enfants atteints de dyslexie éprouvent de grandes difficultés à déchiffrer les sons qui correspondent aux lettres imprimées devant eux. La lecture peut être légèrement hésitante, segmentée ou truffée de petites erreurs dans les cas les plus légers. À l’aide d’un programme de lecture intensif et structuré, les problèmes de précision peuvent être surmontés, du moins en partie puisque la dyslexie ne disparaît jamais complètement.
