A Rainbow Projected Across The World Anyone looking at the sky last week in Newtownards, Ireland would have seen a giant rainbow crossing the city horizon from Scrabo Tower. This phenomenon in the distance is the work of Yvette Mattern, a Puerto Rican-born, New-York-based artist who is taking the Global Rainbow around the world, aiming to stimulate social diversity by using it as an icon of hope. Mattern’s work consists of seven parallel laser beams representing the seven colors of the rainbow, and it was developed to be projected across large, open, densely populated areas. Mattern created the projection on January 19th, 2009 to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day in New York, where it was projected from the top of a Wall Street building in lower Manhattan. Ever since, the project has travelled plenty, having been to Berlin, Toulouse, and Nantes.

Rare Rainbows in the Dark [24 PICS] Upper Yosemite Falls Moonbow. Rainbows in the dark have been delighting the few who are fortunate enough to witness the phenomenon since Aristotle’s time. Photo #1 by Teddy Llovet This spectacular picture from Easter Island shows the Milky Way, the Magellanic clouds, and a Moonbow. BACK TO THE FUTURE : Irina Werning I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… Two years ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future.. Now its time for KOREA, TAIWAN AND TOKYO.
