Foods for Workouts: Cardio | Healthy Eats - Food Network Healthy Living Blog An all-around healthy diet is best for any exercise routine, but cardiovascular exercise requires a balance of special nutrients. If you get cardiovascular exercise regularly (and we all should) – here’s how to fuel up. Cardio Basics Cardio exercise like walking, running and biking require energy from both carbohydrates and fat. Carbohydrates are the body’s #1 go-to source, but healthy sources of fat also give ample doses of energy. As exercise intensity changes (like due to an increase in speed or running uphill, for example), the body switches back and forth between carbs and fat to provide energy. Since you can’t completely control how and when the body needs what nutrient, it’s best to have adequate amounts of both as a regular part of the diet. All foods are digested and metabolized differently, so you need to think about the best times to eat foods that will support your exercise schedule. If you have 3 to 4 hours before exercise…… Have a regular meal.

Hellish nightmare of suffering and devastation: 10-Year-Long Game of Civilisation Predicts Grim Future for Humanity The world in 3991AD ... a “hellish nightmare of suffering and devastation". This post was originally published on Mashable. Can the fate of humanity be predicted by a video game? On Tuesday morning, Reddit user Lycerius wrote a post in r/gaming asking for help with his 10-year-long Civilization II game. Lycerius said the ice caps had melted 20 times because of nuclear fallout. Advertisement Lycerius said he tried destroying or allying with the two remaining countries, but it had not helped. Apparently, most of the world's population has died due to lack of usable land, and the engineers and military forces cannot make any improvements because they are working on supporting the war efforts. Civilization II was released in 1996 by MicroProse. Players have to fight wars, develop technology and forge peace treaties with other nations. Lycerius said he has been transferring his save file from computer to computer and continuing the old game off and on for 10 years.

Recyclebank People that live in glass houses shouldn’t throw bricks, but apparently people that drink beer can live in glass houses. by Joe LaurFollow me on Twitter Came across a very cool story on Ecoscraps today. Turns out that in the 1960’s (remember the 1960’s? Now people that live in glass houses shouldn’t throw bricks, but apparently people that drink beer can live in glass houses. And then there’s this very cool Buddhist temple in Thailand built entirely from one million recycled beer bottles. Must have taken a lot of beer to even come up with the concept, and then well, being good holy monks, they must have all pitched to do their part and drank enough to finish the project. What Youll Wish Youd Known January 2005 (I wrote this talk for a high school. I never actually gave it, because the school authorities vetoed the plan to invite me.) When I said I was speaking at a high school, my friends were curious. I'll start by telling you something you don't have to know in high school: what you want to do with your life. If I were back in high school and someone asked about my plans, I'd say that my first priority was to learn what the options were. It might seem that nothing would be easier than deciding what you like, but it turns out to be hard, partly because it's hard to get an accurate picture of most jobs. But there are other jobs you can't learn about, because no one is doing them yet. And yet every May, speakers all over the country fire up the Standard Graduation Speech, the theme of which is: don't give up on your dreams. What they really mean is, don't get demoralized. Which is an uncomfortable thought. I'm not saying there's no such thing as genius. Upwind Ambition Corruption Now
