20 awesome examples of street art If you still need a proof that art can be found anywhere, those awesome examples of great street art should convince you. Famous Television Show Home Floor Plans After years of watching shows like Dexter and Two and a Half Men, you can’t help but become so attached to the television show that you start wondering what their household really looks like. Spanish interior designer Iñaki Aliste Lizarralde had the same thought as us, and decided to do something for himself creating this incredible series of highly detailed floor plans from some of our favorite television shows. The collection includes the likes of The Simpson, Dexter, Friends, Seinfeld, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and a handful others. Each of the floor plans is highly detailed, and not only includes the architectural side of things, but also goes into immense furnishing details really bringing these television shows to life. As a huge fan of a lot of these shows, this was definitely a project we could appreciate the amount of time and effort that was put in. Check out the floor plans below.
Messy Nessy Chic The Town that spent 25 Years Underwater This is Villa Epecuen, an old tourist town south of Buenos Aires that spent a quarter of a century underwater. Established in the 1920s on the banks of a salt lake, the town was home to over 5,000 residents and a holiday destination to thousands more vacationers from the Argentinian capital. In 1985, a dam burst and buried the town in 33 feet of salt water, rendering it a modern-day Atlantis. Rashad Alakbarov Paints with Shadows and Light Artist Rashad Alakbarov from Azerbaijan uses suspended translucent objects and other found materials to create light and shadow paintings on walls. The best part is that you can easily create something similar at home – all you need is one or two lamps and some items from your desk. The stunning light painting below, made with an array of colored airplanes has found its way to exhibitions like the Fly to Baku at De Pury Gallery in London. Rashad adds, “Above the cloud with its shadow is the star with its light. Above all things reverence thyself.” Comments
Colored Owl Drawings by John Pusateri Using pencils, charcoal, and pastels artist John Pusateri creates near photo-realistic drawings of beautifully colored owls. Pusateri currently teaches in the Department of Architecture at Unitec New Zealand and currently has a number of works available through Seed Gallery. See more from this owl series in his portfolio. Dissected artists This would have made art history much more interesting, don´t you agree?! Created by DDB Brazil for the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP) Art School, this awesome campaign took artists as Dali, Van Gogh, Picasso and dissected them to show their inside illustrated in the same style as their famous artworks. A brilliant idea and execution!

After the positive reception from last year’s “Top 50 ‘Pictures of the Day’ for 2011“, the Sifter promised to highlight the top 25 ‘Pictures of the Day‘ at the end of every quarter, eventually culminating in an epic Top 100 for 2012. It’s hard to believe we’re already into the final quarter of 2012. With that, here are the Sifter’s Top 75 ‘Pictures of the Day‘ for this year. Amazingly Creative Drawing Vs Photography This wonderful work has done by a very talented Belgian painter, illustrator, portraitist, caricaturist and photographer Ben Heine. This creative artist was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He Studied graphic arts and sculpture and I also have a degree in journalism. Lets take a look at some of his awesome works that he calls “Drawing Vs Photography” or “Imagination Vs Reality”.
Judith Ann Braun's Fingers Are Magical With an art career spanning more than three decades, Judith Ann Braun has tested the limits of her artistic musculature. She began as a self-described “realistic figure painter,” and worked through the struggles common to anyone who endeavors upon an artistic pursuit, that of searching for one’s own voice in the chosen medium. Fast forward to the 21st century where the evolution of Braun’s work has brought us to the Fingerings series, a collection of charcoal dust landscapes and abstracts “painted” using not brushes but her fingertips. Braun has a specific interest in symmetry, as evidenced by the patterns she follows in a number of the Fingerings pieces as well as work in the Symmetrical Procedures collection. Her fingerprints are obvious up close in some of the paintings, though a step back and the grandeur of Braun’s imagination sprawls into a landscape of soft hills, overhanging trees, delicate florals, and a reflective waterway.
