Beastranger 6:48 am, February 1, 2011 By Lillian Has anything really changed? When I set out on this journey with Brian, I had a plan. I was going to write lots of poetry. I was going to stop drinking coffee and start waking up early and generally detoxify. And while I tried to temper my expectations, the truth is, I really did think that. Well, let’s take stock, shall we? I wrote almost no poetry, and the poetry I did write I hated. I drank two or three cups of coffee every day and by the end was consuming so much fried food that I’m afraid I’ve come home a few pounds heavier. But was it life changing? In the epic, all encompassing way I had been hoping for? But did I learn anything? I spent a great deal of time on this trip pondering my own mortality. And here’s the thing: I just had this incredible journey, doing something I’ve always wanted to do, and no one will really understand. And it brings me back to the quote that started the beast ranger website. And then I take a breath. Days: 114

Hamburg Süd Frachtschiffreisen: Frachtschiffreisen Start Lifestyle We will never tire of the positive effects of nature. Its calming, soothing and inspiring influence will never go out of style. The more we rush, the more time we spend indoors staring at our screens and devices, the more urban our lifestyles become, the more we crave and need time away from it all. It has been amazing to follow the newest solutions to the old dilemmas: How to bring more green space to cities; how to reclaim underused urban land for recreational and other "green" uses; how to provide more and more people the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of spending time in nature. Lately, we have seen fantastic examples of how designers and architects, urban planners and citizens' organizations have accomplished both large and small-scale projects, from bringing a bit of greenery, and open space to otherwise bleak surroundings, to large-scale neighborhood-changing undertakings. Getting back to nature is not a new phenomenon.
