DIY COCONUT + ROSE BODY SCRUB

DIY COCONUT + ROSE BODY SCRUB
Few things smell better than coconut and rose so let’s combine them, shall we? In this Kitchen Beautician DIY, we’re making a “Spring Time Scrub” to help you exfoliate and get your skin super soft for the coming summer months. Bathing suit season is just around the corner and nobody wants to be the ashy girl! You’ll need: a mason jar, coconut oil, raw cane sugar, almond or jojoba oil and one fragrant rose (here I used sterling silver roses because they’re my favorite AND they’re one of the most fragrant roses ever.) Use a small mason jar or any clear jar with a lid. When you (or the person you’re giving this to as a gift) are ready to use it, take a spoon and mash it all up. NOTE: all measurements are subject to the size of your jar. DIY TOUCH UPS FOR THE PETITE CLUTCH photos + post by amy nadine, graphic design by eunice chun This little lifesaver is the brainchild of my lovely {and clever} client Emmy Rossum! Last Saturday I had the pleasure of doing her makeup for her Shameless panel at Comic Con, but I did it at 6:30am here in LA for her to leave at 8 and drive two hours to San Diego and attend the event until 5pm, without me there to help her with touch ups. Of course lipstick and blotting papers fit in her clutch, but not her foundation bottle or cream eye shadow. As I was trying to find a way to make it work, Emmy said “hold on!” and calmly found a contact lens storage case in her drawer. TOOLS: Your favorite clutch, a contact lens case, foundation or concealer, a cream blush or cream eyeshadow {whichever is more important for you to touch up} and a spatula You can literally do this with anything that you want to bring with you as long as the product is finger friendly. 9 Charmingly Delightful Beauty Techniques from All Over the World … Beauty techniques are highly beneficial, but some of them are incredibly recycled. Brown sugar– when you think of it you may imagine cookies + candy, but it also contains ingredients that can be greatly beneficial to your body’s largest organ, your skin. Yes, I’m talking about using brown sugar as an all over body exfoliant. It’s good to mix it with natural olive oil so it adds extra moisture and creates a sticky consistency that’s easier to apply. Here’s how I prepare to indulge in this natural beauty recipe at home: half a cup of brown sugar three tablespoons of olive oil a few drops of water.
