Lemon-Basil Ricotta Stuffed Shells in a Champagne Cream Sauce:
Can you EVEN believe I almost forgot to share with you this delicious baked pasta recipe? It was back in November when I made this pasta… and I remember the day perfectly… It was real sunny. My hair in a scrunchy, the stretchy grey comfy-pants are on, I was totally rocking the whole I-don’t-give-a-care-what-I-look-like-it’s-my-day-off look like nobody’s business. I’d once again put laundry on the back burner that afternoon {who has time for THAT?}, turned on a little Florence and the Machine, opened the fridge to get the creamer for my coffee and then I spied the champagne and then… the cream. POW {that’s the sound it makes in my brain when a recipe happens}! Please don’t think I ran out and bought champagne. Butter a baking dish and set aside. On the large holes of your box grater; shred a cup of Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese. Season the ricotta with a little extra salt and pepper if you haven’t already. Combine half of the pecorino with the ricotta and set aside. Ingredients:

Grilled Stuffed Squid Recipe with Feta Cheese The flavours infuse in this stuffed squid recipe with a creamy filling of marinated feta cheese. Squid or Calamari as it is called in Greece, is a popular fish dish served in the summer months in Greece. It can be cooked in many different ways. Barbecuing squid helps to bring out the sweetness in the flavour of the meal. Ingredients 4 medium squid, cleaned, total weight 900g /2lb 4-8 finger length slices of feta cheese Pierogi Recipe October 2, 2010 My mom is obsessed with keeping a stocked freezer, but I guess I don’t really take after her, because my freezer tends to be relatively empty, aside from random containers of stock/ramen broth, frozen dumplings and pierogi. I admit, I store buy frozen chinese dumplings and pierogi for those times that I just don’t feel like cooking. I tell myself it’s because of ease and convenience, but really, I just love the taste of frozen pockets filled with deliciousness.

Skinny Chocolate Chip Cookies - StumbleUpon Remember when I told you I love chocolate? And then I proceeded to tell you I love all things guilt-free and delicious? Well here ya go, all that and more in these bite-sized cookies. Kalofagas - Greek Food & Beyond For those that have been fortunate enough to visit Greece and enjoy some of the world’s freshest seafood, you would have been offered calamari either fried or in this case, grilled. I didn’t always eat calamari (squid) but the deep-fried variety is what converted me. However, grilled squid (or calamari) is what cemented my love for this cheap, easy and delicious seafood dish. Squid can be found at practically every fish & seafood store and most of what’s available has been frozen at some point. Buying frozen is perfectly fine. Just buy from a fish monger that has a good trade and of course, a high turnover to ensure the freshest supply.

How to make black garlic Black garlic is a traditionally Korean specialty that is also becoming common in North America. While it may be simple to purchase pre-packaged black garlic, it can be more rewarding to make your own at home. Once your garlic is ready, you can use it in all sorts of dishes such as pasta, hummus, pizza or stir-fries. Fermenting the garlic is a simple process but it does take a long stand-by time, so be prepared to wait a while for your black garlic to be ready. Sticky Lemon Rolls with Lemon Cream Cheese Glaze Have you ever wondered what cinnamon rolls would taste like, sans cinnamon? Why aren't there more recipes for sticky, gooey, and sweet breakfast rolls without cinnamon or caramel? There are so many other wonderful options! I was craving a buttery, flaky breakfast bun with the sweet, tangy, taste of lemon — so I made one up. These rolls are amazing, if I do say so myself! The first time I made them they were a smash hit, and they've continued to be so every time since.

Cooking Holiday in Greece: Cooking Vacations Poros, Greece About the location: The ancient Greeks were among the first to discover the benefits of adding herbs and spices to their food. This process was used not only to enhance the tastes, but also provided medicinal benefits. Greek food is still a unique mix of fresh, seasonal ingredients and a generous blend of herbs and spices such as thyme, rosemary and oregano, which grow all over Greece. Greece is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and has one of the largest coastal areas of any country in Europe, and for this reason fish is an integral part of Greek cuisine. Fresh seasonal vegetables are also a significant element in traditional Greek cooking. And Greek food would not be Greek without the olive oil, as olives are grown and olive oil produced in many parts of Greece.

Queso Blanco Dip {Sugar Rush Reinvented: #6} And so…another week of my anti-Sugar Rush continues. Well, not that I’m anti-sugar, but like I explained last week, I am changing it up this year and doing two weeks of savory, delectable appetizer “treats” with a highlighted recipe from years past of Sugar Rush. I feel a little redundant swooning over each of the recipes I’ve posted with Sugar Rush Reinvented, but I’m telling you, I hit on some wondrous recipes this go-round. Even though I stated the pinwheels were my favorite, I had to sidestep that claim when the pizza bites knocked my socks off, and now…if the quantity of queso blanco dip I devoured (rephrase: me and the baby devoured) is any indication, this might be my actual favorite.

Cornmeal and Brown Sugar Crusted Bacon As any of you who have been reading this blog for more than a week or so know, I have a love affair going on with bacon that is on the level of Scarlett and Rhett, or at least the cute guy from Love Actually who is head over heels for Keira Knightley. My love is true and ever-lasting, and I will put bacon in anything from cinnamon rolls to pralines. Some of my friends are a little concerned about me (you know who you are!) but hey, when it comes to bacon, I gotta be me. I also completely enjoy it in its natural state, cooked up just the right amount of crispy and chewy alongside some sunny-side up eggs, but now that I have tried this spin on regular bacon, I’m going to have a seriously hard time going back. I belong to the cook-bacon-in-the-oven camp…it is SO much easier and more reliable than doing it on the stovetop or the microwave, and a million times less splattery.

Baked Egg Boat recipe - StumbleUpon Breakfast is my favorite meal. I like to drink iced coffee and watch the cream climb its way down the chunky ice cubes in a dazy before the caffeine hits. untitled From the molten yolk and bacon crunch of a hand-held breakfast, to the gooey charm of grilled cheese for lunch, nothing matches the simple pleasures of well-made sandwiches. They're quick to assemble, infinitely adaptable, easy to eat, and immediately satisfying—the very definition of good food. The 25 sandwiches you're about to meet can be thrown together during the average basketball halftime or, with practice, during the seventh-inning stretch. (Who needs hot dogs, anyway?) Use each recipe as a basic road map, but bring your talent for finding creative routes.
