Standard Pallets Reused Free pallets are wanted here, just your standard, everyday pallet is fine. You can see I'm using two free pallets as a raised surface for our small backyard container garden of mostly tomatoes and Japanese cucumbers. This system works great cause all we have to do is run the mower along the edges of the wooden pallets and not worry about knocking over any veggies. DIY Pallet Serving Tray Another simple and functional pallet project. Remember my Pallet Planter Box? Well, I wanted to put that pallet to use again and I thought some of it might make a fabulous pallet serving tray. I had a complicated one in mind with a small lip around the entire tray; however, my handy dandy hubby sketched this out out for me and I thought — PERFECTION! . Supplies: Mitre Saw, Pallet, Drill, Screws and Hardware of Choice. The first thing you’ll want to do is cut three bottom pieces. Can you see all the drips of sweat from my ever so helpful hubby? Once everything is lined up and even — you’ll want to flip the pieces over, so you can screw the bottom boards into the braces. Flip the tray over (again), grab your hardware and attach. That’s it!

Distressed Mail Holder From Pallet We have a problem in our home when it comes to the mail. We bring it in every day, but we don't always have time to look at it right away. It ends up piling up on the kitchen table or on the counters. And it drives.me.crazy! Solution? Here's a little background on how this mail holder came to be. I looked outside and what to my wondering eyes should appear?? 4 pallets in my very own backyard! I promptly demanded begged the hubs to pry apart some of these boards with me so I could start creating. Sooooo, the hubs used an electric saw to cut pieces of the boards off. I designed it. I love the old wood, but I really wanted it to blend in with the furniture in my kitchen a little better. This is the bench we have from this set to give an idea of the distress on the wood. So, I needed to distress the mail holder because right now its silky smooth... I attacked with this nail first... I gouged and scraped. Then I went at it with this... The hubs wasn't around for me to ask what it was. Great!

Build A Pallet Shelf Tutorial Normally I don't let much get in the way of a creative spark. When I get an idea, I go for it. And I've had a great idea since last week, but one big giant thing was in the way. Who knows how many thousands of pounds of masonry rock for the face of our house was right in the way of my next DIY project. That, and taxes. Well, taxes, kids, dinner, husbands, housekeeping AND this gigantic pile of concrete. What to do? So I waited. There's our groceries for the week, delivered right to our doorstep! Instead, I bummed a pallet off the driver. And although I was very thankful, it did not have as much character as the one's under the masonry rock See the blue and green on the bottom pallet? Do they make safety glasses for infants? Then we went in the garage and took a quick measurement of the openings on the bottom of the pieces I had chopped up. Then I grabbed my nailer and put some 1 1/4" nails into the edges to form a bottom on the pallet pieces. And then grabbed a few random items and . . . 1.

The table top is 40" long x 21.25" wide. image by Janae I just cut it at a 30 degree angle to keep it from digging into the kids lap. For the seats, a pallet frame would work, but I had two scrap pieces of 2x4s. I used the same measurements as the big kid's picnic table for the legs. I would have just sealed it, but that would have cost money.
