Pasta Pie Cheesy, delicious and impressive Pasta Pie will have your family and friends amazed by your effots. Believe it or not, it's simple to put together. Give it a try. The key to this recipe, as far as taste goes, is using quality ingredients. Let's put this together: You will need: Crushed tomatoes, fresh garlic, Parmesan cheese and mozzarella. Ground beef, rigatoni pasta, olive oil, butter, salt and pepper are also needed. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook 1 pound rigatoni pasta until slightly underdone (I cooked mine for 12 minutes when the box indicated 14 minutes). Heat remaining 1 Tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 can good quality (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes; simmer until thickened, about 20 minutes. Toss pasta with 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese. Butter a 9-inch springform pan. Spread meat sauce on top of pasta. Push the meat sauce into the pasta holes filling each one up. Place in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Print Recipe Ingredients

Michelle Phan julie, julia & jules - lessons from mastering the art of french cooking [5 ingredients | simple baking] With a name like Jules (actually my real name is Julie but I really hate it – so don’t tell anyone), and a food blog, AND a passion for all things French, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t strongly identify with the story of Julie and Julia. What can I say, I LOVED the movie and since then I seem to have become a bit of a Julie and Julia stalker. Well in the literary arena at least. This year I’ve managed to read Julie Powell’s story of her year of cooking (and blogging) dangerously, Julia Child’s autobiography that focuses on the years of her life that she lived in France – or La Belle F - as she called it. And most recently I’ve been wading through the enormous body of work that is Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking – Volume 1. While it’s about as far from minimalist cooking as one can get, I’ve still loved Julia’s approach to food and cooking. diluted clam juice can be substituted for fish stock Not that I know where to buy clam juice – but interesting none the less.

My Favorite Quiche! ***It's not often that a recipe is worthy of re-posting. I think I've only done that once or twice in the entire time I've written this blog. However, this is one of those rare occasions. Back in 2009 when Brad and I went to Europe, we had the most amazing Quiche Lorraine at the incredible Les Deux Magots cafe in Paris. It was delicious and was served alongside a yummy salad of fresh greens (Quiche Lorraine sur Salade Verte). I'll never forget the elderly lady that was sitting at the table right next to us (the tables were situated pretty close together). Shortly after we returned from our trip, I posted a recipe for Quiche, which you can see HERE. After one bite of this, you'll be in love! Bon Appetit! Ingredients:1 pie crust, rolled out and fitted into a 9″ pie pan 3 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 cups milk 1 Tbsp oil 1 medium onion, minced 8 oz mushrooms, sliced 1 bag (6 oz) baby spinach 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled 1 1/2 cups Gruyere cheese, shredded 1 tbsp flour Salt & Pepper, to taste
