DISCLAIMER: as a Google Certified Teacher (and lover of all things Google), I truly hate to see Sketchup go. Tinkercad - like Tinkertoys, 'cept digital This powerful tool for 3D modeling is being wildly embraced by the 3D design educational community because of its ease of use and ability to interface with devices like 3D printers. MAP MONSTERS Learning Geography can become more fun when students are encouraged to add an artistic touch. Map Monsters is a wonderful cross-curricular activity that I do with my students that incorporates Geography, or reading maps and visual arts. After learning a particular geographic of an area of the world the children look for monsters hidden along the borders of the countries! Step 1: Supplies Supplies for this project are very basic. Step 2: White out Oh and white out (or acrylic paint) is perfect for eyes and teeth! Step 3: First step First take a look at the map to find a monster image hidden somewhere along a countries border or deep in the mountains.... Step 4: Identifying your monsters When you have found an image of a monster lightly draw over the map with pencil. Step 5: Adding the eyes and teeth Next if my monster has eyes or teeth, mine usually do but yours do not have to! How to Memorize Things Quickly People like to joke that the only thing you really “learn” in school is how to memorize. As it turns out, that’s not even the case for most of us. If you go around the room and ask a handful of people how to memorize things quickly, most of them will probably tell you repetition. That is so far from the truth, it’s running for office. Before we start, you need to establish something: are you an auditory, visual, or experiential learner? As we get older, toxic chemicals will damage our neurons and synapses, leading to memory loss and even Alzheimer’s. Step 2: Record What You’re Memorizing This is especially useful if you’re trying to memorize information from a lecture.
