Basic Crocheted Flat Circle With Solid Center Basic Crocheted Flat Circle With Solid Center Following is an example showing how to crochet a basic flat circle made with single crochet, with a solid center. This example uses the method of joining with a slip stitch at the end of each round (instead of continuous rounds). From crocheting this sample, you can learn about the increases used when crocheting in the round. Materials Used In This Example worsted weight yarn US size G hook Finished Size: 2 1/4 inches in diameter, after 4 rounds Abbreviations: ch = chain ea = each rnd = round sc = single crochet sl st = slip stitch To Begin: Chain 2. Optional Finishing Round: After the last round, if you wish to, you can give the circle a nicer looking edge by doing one slip stitch in each single crochet around the circle. When finished, end off.

★ 100 Free Crochet Patterns For Beginners Knitting and crochet are actually very different even though they are often confused with each other. Both techniques create a series of loops using yarn in order to make a flat fabric, but knitting uses knitting needles, and crocheting uses hooks. Finished knitted products have a different look and feel to finished crochet products; knitting is mostly used for anything that needs to drape well or be soft and cuddly, for instance sweaters, cuddly toys and socks, whilst crochet creates sturdier, more durable and often thicker items than knitting and is good for placemats, rugs and throws. Other differences between the methods are that more detailed patterns and colorwork can be achieved with knitting, and knitting can also be done by machine whereas it’s impossible to crochet by machine. Crochet starts with a slip knot in order to loop the yarn onto your crochet hook. Have fun!

Apache Tears Beautifully textured, captivating and fascinating! I’m referring to the strikingly mesmerizing Apache Tears crochet pattern. I’ve had quite a few enquiries in regards to this pattern, so today I thought I’d share my tips and technique with you. It’s not a complicated pattern so let’s get started! The following are the ‘basic’ rules when working this pattern: Each row is worked from the right side. Each row is worked from right to left.Ensure to leave a 6 inch tail of yarn when beginning and ending a row.To begin each row, form a slip knot on your hook and commence row.Work all dc in the back loop of stitches.Work all dtr in the front loop of stitch 3 rows below, whilst missing the dc behind on current row. The pattern may also be customized to your own preferences, producing a dense fabric! When it comes to customizing it all boils down to . . . the spacing . . . you can choose to customize your blanket by working 8 dc, 6 dc or 4 dc etc. Sample 1: Spacing of 8 dc With Red, ch 37.
