Je me suis réveillée hier matin avec ce projet en tête... Une petite heure de travail, et hop, me voici avec mon nouveau t-shirt en dentelle fait à partir de mon t-shirt crème préféré! J'ai pensé vous partager ici les instructions, d'un coup que vous aimeriez recycler votre T préféré en quelque chose de joli pour l'été qui tarde à arriver. pour épingler correctement votre dentelle sur votre t-shirt, commencez par mettre votre T et y aposer quelques épingles là où devrait aller la dentelle. Une fois que vous aurez découper les zones pour laisser place à la transparence de la dentelle, épingler puis coudre la dentelle aux épaules et au collet. Utiliser ensuite la manche du T comme patron pour tracer les nouvelles manches de dentelle Coudre les manches (attention, endroit sur endroit!) michael ann made.: men's shirt to dress refashion the mr and i spent most of the weekend being busy and getting ready for our road trip down to california later this week, and i was able to finish up a men's shirt refashion that i've had on my project list for too long! before: giant chambray men's shirt thrifted for $2 after: simple summer dress! don't you love it when an idea turns out even better in real life than you imagined? i have been craving an easy summer dress project for some time and found the perfect, super large shirt while thrifting with the mr a couple weeks ago. i cut off the sleeves and the collar, leaving just the collar band. i also took off the pocket because it looked a little funny down near my waist... then i slimmed down the sides to fit loose so it would gather cute with a belt. when i tried it on, the shoulders turned out to be long enough to be little cap sleeves! i finished just in time to be able to wear it to our fourth of july celebrations of frozen yogurt and fireworks at the waterfront!

A Step in the Journey: DIY Baker's Twine I have been drooling over all of the baker’s twine projects I’ve been seeing lately. Haven’t you? It comes in SOOO many delicious colors, and can be used in a multitude of ways. I’ve entered several giveaways in hope that I’ll be able to add some to my craft collection, but I’ve yet to win. And if you are walking down the same thrifty path as me, you can make your own too! white string | ruler | Sharpies | spools I picked up the white string at the Wal-Mart for $2.97 I believe. First, Wrap your string tightly around the ruler (I covered my ruler in masking tape to avoid the marker adding a little necessary decorations). I’ve found the quickest way to do this is to hold the ruler in one hand and wrap quickly with the other…then push the string up the ruler to make snug! Then, you’ll need to choose one of your Sharpies (or other permanent marker). And color several straight lines. Now, find a way to store your DIY Baker’s Twine. Wrap. And repeat in several different colors. And ENJOY!

I sooo wanted it, but obviously I wasn't spending $45 on it, plus, it was totally make-able. I made some revisions and here it is! Maybe it seems a little too early to be thinking about the beach... but seriously, I can't wait. So- without further ado- the 20 Minute Beach Cover Up! (1) Cut it. (2) Braid it. (3) Attach it. Another option: if it's bunching too much in back, you can add in a tapered curve. (5) Wear it. It was so simple!

DIY: Sharpie Tie Dye This is a great project for kids, or adults. I first saw the idea on the blog found here. All you need are some Sharpies, rubbing alcohol and something to drip it from (I had a syringe), and a t-shirt, or other clothing. I put a piece of cardboard in my tank top to prevent bleeding. Step 1: Use the Sharpies to make marks on your t-shirt. Step 2: Drip some drops of rubbing alcohol. Watch your design expand Step 3: Dry your t-shirt completely before washing. After I washed it the colors faded, but I still like the look: TIP: After drying the shirt with a hair dryer, allow it to set for 24 hours before washing.

Ingredients: - Scissors - Leather cord - Faux Flowers - Jewelry/Craft wire Pull the flower off the stem. Cut off a piece of wire about 6 inches or so. Secure the wire about the base of your flower, hiding it under the bottom green part that hold the flower together. Twist the wire around its self. Wrap the wire around your cord. V and Co how to: shag pillow *no animals or plants were hurt in the making of this project. *one really stupid person did get hurt in the making of this project, but she would like to mention that even though the needle penetrated...no swear words passed her lips. it's was a modern day miracle. i love how this pillow turned out. i made it in green for two reasons: 1. it's still kind of cold here, and still kind of brown...will be for a little bit longer so i wanted some GREEN and springy looking happiness in my home. 2. it's the only color of jersey i had on hand, and living in the middle of nowhere doesn't let me just jump in the car and go to a store that i can find jersey fabric at (which btw this fabric was found at jo-anns but i would suggest amazon if you can't find what you are looking for, that's where i get a lot of mine when i can't find stuff) now lets get started: cutting: *cut from jersey fabric 19 strips at 1 1/2" each. *from each of the 19 strips cut 15: 4" length rectangles. the end.

DIY Cat Shirt @ In the Wabe When Leah Reena Goren’s beautiful Feline Karma Dress first appeared at Anthropologie a couple months ago it immediately catapulted to internet popularity. Along with pictures of the dress have been rumblings about making DIY versions, and I decided to try my hand. I’m still hoping to snag the dress (please go on sale!) If you can, support Leah’s designs via the Anthropologie link above or her Etsy, which includes many beautiful items! This shirt was incredibly easy to make! First, draw a cat outline. Make sure the fits the sponge (I used a regular [new and unused!] I was a bit worried about how to place the cats, so I used clear tape as a kind of marker. Next, place a generous amount of paint onto the sponge and transfer onto the fabric. This is what I like most of mine to look like. Seriously, how easy was that?
