How Text Messages Change From Dating to Marriage | Alice Zhao Way back in October 2008, my now husband and I went on our first date. On our one year anniversary, his gift to me was a Word doc of all of our text messages since our first date (what he likes to refer to as #thegiftofdata). This was especially high tech back in the day (given that we both had feature phones) and what I considered to be the most thoughtful gift ever (given that we are both nerds). To celebrate our six year anniversary, I decided to take his present to the next level. First of all, we can clearly see that my husband has an obsession with the word "home." I then looked at the frequency of specific terms we used in our text messages when we started dating compared to the past year. Our conversations changed from "hey, what's up?" The main difference is that while we were dating, we didn't see each other every day, so a lot of our communication had to happen via text. We see the same story here. Overall, our text messages started out very flirty and personal.

Facebook's OpenGraph, Three Months Later It's been about 90 days since the f8 Facebook Conference and the debut of OpenGraph, a platform consisting of publisher plugins, semantic markup and a developer API. Every new vehicle needs time for a shakedown drive, to bang out the kinks and to see if users can make something of it. In point of fact, users have made something of it. fbLike has compiled a list of six OpenGraph success stories, and possible models, for use of the Facebook platform, and were good enough to share it with ReadWriteWeb's readers. Writing Great LinkedIn Invitations | Investing, Raising Capital, Great LinkedIn invitations? Are they really that big a deal? Sure, canned messages are lame, but inviting someone to connect via LinkedIn (or any other social networking site) is just a simple matter of record-keeping. What’s wrong with just, “Hey, let’s connect?” That’s one way to look at it. There’s another reason your LinkedIn invitations matter: if too many (five or so, best guess – LinkedIn doesn’t publish the actual number) of your invitations are rejected (“I don’t know the sender”) by the recipient, your account may be temporarily suspended and you will lose the ability to invite people to connect without their email address. One way to ensure having your LinkedIn invitations accepted is to email the person before sending them a LinkedIn invitation and ask them if they’d like to connect on LinkedIn.
