A lovely upcycling idea to go by Naemi. Naemi says: “Here is my upcycling idea: a washbag for your toothbrush made out of old coffee bags. Just cut it out on the side, sew it on top and apply a zip. Very convenient for travelling. (: You just need coffee packaging (I got mine in a fair trade store) and a zip!
How to Make Your Own Recycled Paper
Recycled paper can be made from old newspaper, following the instructions below. Recycling paper uses cellulose (plant fibers) over and over again, it uses less electricity, less water, a lot less pollution, and it saves trees from being cut down! You will need: a food processor or an old blender an electric iron an old wire hanger an old pair of panty hose newspaper or other paper, torn into 2-inch squares white glue water an insect screen or strainer (optional) food coloring (optional) a big sink or tub filled with 4 inches of water Make sure you have a place to work where you can make a big mess! Step One: Make a frame out of the coat hanger.

There’s a few requirements when it comes to porches, in my book. You have to have rocking chairs, some sort of swing if you have room & a table or two for some chips & dip. That makes a perfect porch in my opinion.

I’ve had an overwhelming response to this project and everyone wants a tutorial, so here you go. First off, gather your supplies: - book for dismembering, paperbacks are great - template (I made half an apple out of a thick piece of chipboard)
Christmas ornament with popsicle sticks, an easy project for kids!
Make a God's Eye ornament out of popsicle sticks, an easy project for kids! You will need: 2 popsicle sticks OR anything remotely like a stick Yarn or string We have made God's Eyes using twigs from the yard, popsicle sticks, toothpicks (using string instead of yarn). The larger one shown here was made from two plastic and wire "stalks" snipped off of some silk flowers. You can hold the sticks together with your hands while you start winding the yarn, but for small fingers, you might want to glue them together (in the shape of a cross) and leave to dry overnight before wrapping.

We don't normally have a lot of candy in the house. Well, the Halloween candy (at least nothing with chocolate - because that's all eaten within hours) is still in a jar in the kitchen cupboard. Lucky Wishing Stars Tutorial
You’ve probably seen these little puffy origami stars before. They are really quick to make, and you don’t need any special materials to make them. You can buy lucky star pre-cut strips from origami stores, but you can just as easily make your own from medium weight coloured paper, e.g. scrapbooking paper, or even strips cut from magazine pages – as the strips are so narrow, the original text or image won’t be obvious in the finished star. When ever your bored by the naked light switches on the wall you can pimp them with Elaines idea. Elaine says: “I use the lid from a cookie tin or popcorn tin, cut it out and form it into a cover the the light switches. I have a series of jigs to help me properly place the holes and form the metal to the correct shape. The jigs are made from scrap plastic and scraps of wood. I change the covers seasonally in my home and sell them along with my tin can jewelry at craft shows.”
