This low carb recipe idea was born when I was eating a bowl of the Cheesy Cauliflower Puree from last week and I had some leftovers. Well my first attempt was a disaster! I mulled it over the rest of the day, and the next day I had a brainstorm.I cooked a new batch of cauliflower but for half as long as I do for the puree. It worked! Now a brief disclaimer. 10 Minute Banana Bread Almost every weekend I bake. Lately I've been trying different recipes using my sourdough starter. At other times I baked yeasted artisan breads and sandwich breads. But one thing has remained constant: almost every time I have the oven heated for baking I make a batch of banana bread. Frozen Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie My sisters and I are about 3 years apart in age, and we have a lot in common…although there is one thing that ‘bonds’ us in a downright silly way…(to the point that we act like 5th graders when it’s around!) That one thing is Peanut Butter!!! I’m not really sure what started this ‘peanut butter’ phenomenon between the three of us, but my bet is that it had something to do with the rich chocolate peanut butter cake my mom used to make for our birthday when we were growing up! Well…The years of eating a huge slice of cake (with endless amounts of saturated fat) eventually must come to an end… (lets consider the health of our hearts here people…not just calories!) However, the desire to have a traditional birthday celebration (and the cake that comes with it) never dies, no matter how old your turning!

Gluten-Free Quinoa Pizza Bites I'm crazy for quinoa and crazy for pizza. Put them together, and you get a nutritious treat featuring the goodness of the whole grain packed with fiber and protein and a savory, gluten-free snack. The original recipe calls for pepperoni, but being a vegetarian I substituted diced cherry tomatoes for a sweet juiciness that complemented the basil and oregano. 5-Ingredient Potato Soup » Gimme Some Oven This 5-Ingredient Potato Soup recipe is as easy as it gets!! But don't you worry -- it is still super flavorful, thick, and oh-so-comforting. :) Winter decided to arrive in Kansas City yesterday. (Ugh.) So I took that as the perfect cue to hop on a plane to sunny California at the crack of dawn this morning to (hopefully) meet the man of my dreams. (Yay!)

Cauliflower Crust Pizza I came across this cauliflower crust pizza on Pinterest, and was instantly intrigued. A low-carb pizza? Sign me up! I was skeptical, of course, but curious enough to try it and see how it tasted. Easy Lemon Crepes with Blueberry Sauce for Voskos Light pillows of Heaven. That's what these delicate crepes taste like. They remind me of pancakes I used to get at a particular restaurant, only these are non-greasy and don't leave you with a stomach ache. They're impressive, but easy to prepare with Greek yogurt and lemon curd as the filling. Recently my girlfriends and I were talking about how much we love lemon curd. I have always loved it the traditional (read, fattening) way - with scones.

Stuffed Artichokes Recipe : Anne Burrell Directions Cook's Note: Before starting this recipe be aware that there is a lot of waste involved in artichokes. It's ok. Funeral Potatoes There are certain dishes that have to be made on Thanksgiving in our family. Some of those include my aunt’s super yummy Ham, my mom’s rolls, and several side dishes, including Funeral Potatoes (also known as Hashed Brown Cheese Casserole). Yes, we do have regular Mashed Potatoes as well (recipe to come later this week), but we always have a least to pans of Funeral Potatoes. Usually one has onions in it, and the other one does not (for us picky folk).

Maybe, you’re cold and looking to warm up with a soothing bowl of soup? Or maybe you’re fighting off a bit of a cold from the holiday excitement? Yes to all of the above. Cherry + Dark Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt So just in case you missed Monday’s post… I thought it would be a great idea {which it was} to use my Bodum blender stick to make creamy mashed potatoes. BUT I didn’t just stop there. Ohhhh no. I also made some frozen yogurt. Cherry to be exact… and with a handful {or two} of dark chocolate chips. Healthy Vegan Recipes Hey Alan!
