Open Educational ResourcesOur ProjectsGet Involved With the internet, universal access to education is possible, but its potential is hindered by increasingly restrictive copyright laws and incompatible technologies. The Education program at Creative Commons works to minimize these barriers, supporting the CC mission through consulting, education, and outreach on using the right technologies and licenses to maximize the benefits of open educational resources (OER) and the return on investment in publicly funded education and research programs. Our work cuts across all levels of education (K-12 to postsecondary) and sectors of industry (nonprofit to corporate). Open Educational Resources Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research materials in any medium that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits their free use and re-purposing by others.1 Case Studies Find OER Version 4.0 for Education Back to top Our Projects Get Involved

Browse CollectionBrowse by Subject / Keywords Introduction In January of 2011 we started posting free short stories we thought might be of interest to Baen readers. The first stories were "Space Hero" by Patrick Lundrigan, the winner of the 2010 Jim Baen Memorial Short Story Contest, and "Tanya, Princess of Elves," by Larry Correia, author of Monster Hunter International and set in that universe. As new stories are made available, they will be posted on the main page, then added to this book (to save the Baen Barflies the trouble of doing it themselves). This is our compilation of short stories for 2019.

BREAKING: You Know That TED Talk You Weren't Supposed To See? Here It Is. Presented in partnership with Nick Hanauer, self described "super-rich" entrepreneur, gave a fantastic TED Talk about how the middle class—not the super-rich—are the real job creators. But TED, which has released over 100 different political videos in the past, thought this one was too partisan and refused to release it. We normally love TED, and were surprised they didn't think this talk was TEDworthy. weRead.com - All about Books, Reviews, Recommendations and Authors What if you can leave your life and its problems behind and go places - to other countries, worlds, galaxies and back and forth in time? Books are that one medium that will grant you full access to anywhere and everywhere, allowing you to escape into your imagination with rich descriptions of everything you might not otherwise get to see in your lifetime. Reading books is a hobby that most of us do not devote time to specifically, but on a rainy day when nothing else seems interesting, a quick peek into your bookshelf will reveal hidden gems that will keep you enthralled for the next several hours. Books also improve your knowledge span, in small ways and big, and greatly broaden your vocabulary as well.
