Bath Salts Recipe: DIY Wedding Shower Favors
Posted on January 18, 2012 by Christina DIY bath salts are probably the easiest and most economical DIY favors known to man, er woman – especially with this bath salts recipe. Talk about bang for your buck! Which of your female guests wouldn’t love a luxurious soak in a tub filled with gorgeous aromas and pure, skin-softening salts? I especially loved this DIY wedding project because it gave me an excuse to open my potions cupboard. I think this would be a fabulous shower gift. Bath Salts Recipe (Fills two 150 ml containers) 3/4 cup Epsom salts 1/2 cup coarse sea salt 1/4 cup baking soda 8 drops essential oil food coloring Mix all of your dry ingredients in a large bowl. If there are lumps, crush them. Using a whisk, mix in the essential oil and food coloring. Scoop bath salts into airtight containers.

Painted Spoons | paperyandcakery.com I love paint chips. And color. And rainbows. Enough said. When I spotted this ad on Pinterest {an ad for a paint chip company using spoons to display the beautiful colors} I was smitten. So I set out to recreate it. Instead of ordering real spoons, I opted for these plastic ones that look just like real metal. Then I painted them with acrylic paint Once they dried, I hot glued them to the canvas. Voila: paint chip spoon art! And here it is on the wall. xoxo, Niki Travel Art Kit: Here We Goooooo “Here we goooooooooo!!!” Said like Peter Pan, of course. Which is quite fitting since we are off to Disneyland! That’s right people. The kind of vacation where you are more exhausted when you get home. But you don’t complain because… it’s Disneyland. Last night, I couldn’t sleep because I had taken a non-drowsy allergy pill and earlier I drank a Diet Coke. Starting with Kraft Cardstock I used my Cameo and cut quite a few pages with one or two words on each. The only adhesive I packed is my Glossy Accents since it is tiny. I painted my cloth bag with neon pink using a stencil. Everything fits perfect into my bag. Also, here is the Kid’s Art journal kit I put together last year for our Lake Powell trip. Leaving in an hour… gotta go pack! xo, Lizzy Click on the images to check out the supplies:

Mamie Jane's I celebrated a birthday earlier this month and never showed you the fabulous gift I received from my son. My very own compound miter saw! And yes.....it is exactly what I asked for! My son may not always understand me but he is very supportive of all my crazy ideas. I wanted to start with an easy project and it didn't take long to figure out what to cut first. Ever since I made the tiered pie plate stand pictured below (posted here), I have wanted to make another one using a wood rolling pin as the center support. No problem now. The miter saw cut effortlessly through the wood to give me the pieces I needed for my tiered pie plate stand. Once the pieces were cut it was easy assembly. Initially I did not plan to have the red base piece on the stand. I'm thinking this would be a cute piece in the kitchen to hold spices. Or maybe an overripe banana or two. I'm declaring my first miter saw project a success. I think I'm going to have fun with this thing. Have a wonderful evening. Jane

Seashell mobile, esprit cabane, DIY decorative objects Hanging seashells chime together with every gentle breeze, making a soft, soothing music. This mobile showcases the subtle, pearly hues of your seaside souvenirs from the seaside. With a brush, wash different-shaped shells that you have gathered on one - or several - beaches. Make a circle with a piece of wire. Cover the wire with yarn, pulling the needle through each loop around the wire, as though casting stitches. Tie three threads to the circle, tying the ends together in a loop that you will use to hang the mobile. To make holes in the shells without breaking them, place them on a folded dishtowel. start Start a hole in the mother-of-pearl side using a thick, very sharp needle. Once you have made holes in all the shells (about 20 should be enough), thread them evenly onto the five pieces of string.

Sugar Scrubs Recipes *December 13, 2012 Update: I have had many of you wanting the labels to download…Great News! They are now available and you can get them by clicking on this link: Peppermint Candy Cane Sugar Scrub Labels You will notice that you have to Like my Face Book page to get it. As always I really appreciate the loyalty of my fans! Guess what? Sugar Scrubs are a great way to add some moisture and soften up winter-dry skin. I simply took two cups of white granulated Sugar and mixed in a 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup Almond Oil (Coconut Oil will work too). Once you have it all mixed together you will want to divide the scrub into two equal parts and in separate containers. Make a large funnel out of a piece of paper (a small one will not allow enough room for the sugar scrub to pass through it) and add a small amount into the jar. Then add a white layer so that they are about the same height and flatten it. You can buy Peppermint Essential Oils from my favorite DoTerra Rep here: Peppermint Essential Oil

ReMadeSimple Tutorial for hanging your Mod Podge Lanterns This little tutorial is for Meg! She wrote me asking how to make the hanging system for the little Mod Podge lanterns. Thank you for asking, Meg. I never thought about that part! So... here is a simple way to make a hanger for your lanterns! Tools are simple! 1. 2. 3. Cut a length of wire that will wrap around the top of the candle twice plus extra for the hanging loop. Plop the double loop of wire down over the jar opening. Bend the long end of the wire 90 degrees. Make a bend in the other end of the long wire - mine is about 1 1/2" from bend to tip of wire. Catch the loop you just made under the two wire loops surrounding the opening. Now using your fingers and the needle nose pliers, if needed, bring the loop wire around behind the hanger and bend and twist into a nice little "knot" as shown. On the opposite side of the opening, draw the wires tightly against the surface of the jar and create another little twisted knot as you see was done on the right side in this image. Done!
