Painted Spoons | paperyandcakery.com I love paint chips. And color. And rainbows. Enough said. When I spotted this ad on Pinterest {an ad for a paint chip company using spoons to display the beautiful colors} I was smitten. So I set out to recreate it. Instead of ordering real spoons, I opted for these plastic ones that look just like real metal. Then I painted them with acrylic paint Once they dried, I hot glued them to the canvas. Voila: paint chip spoon art! And here it is on the wall. xoxo, Niki Sunshine Sugar Scrub This home-made scrub is the ideal solution for the woman that has everything. Travel Art Kit: Here We Goooooo “Here we goooooooooo!!!” Said like Peter Pan, of course. Which is quite fitting since we are off to Disneyland! That’s right people. The kind of vacation where you are more exhausted when you get home. But you don’t complain because… it’s Disneyland. Last night, I couldn’t sleep because I had taken a non-drowsy allergy pill and earlier I drank a Diet Coke. Starting with Kraft Cardstock I used my Cameo and cut quite a few pages with one or two words on each. The only adhesive I packed is my Glossy Accents since it is tiny. I painted my cloth bag with neon pink using a stencil. Everything fits perfect into my bag. Also, here is the Kid’s Art journal kit I put together last year for our Lake Powell trip. Leaving in an hour… gotta go pack! xo, Lizzy Click on the images to check out the supplies:
Snake oil? Scientific evidence for health supplements Updated September 2015 with a revitalising boost of fresh data. New entries include melatonin, proving travellers were right about its effect on sleep; and good evidence for Vitamin D for flu, bones and long life. Evidence for valerian as a cure for anxiety has dropped, as has any likelihood that cranberry juice has impact on urinary infections. Thanks to visitor suggestions we’ve added entries for supplements that may in some cases be harmful, including Vitamin A, which has been linked to birth defects. Note: You might see multiple bubbles for certain supplements. This visualisation generates itself from this Google Doc. As ever, we welcome your thoughts, crits, comments, corrections, compliments, tweaks, new evidence, missing supps, and general feedback.
Seashell mobile, esprit cabane, DIY decorative objects Hanging seashells chime together with every gentle breeze, making a soft, soothing music. This mobile showcases the subtle, pearly hues of your seaside souvenirs from the seaside. With a brush, wash different-shaped shells that you have gathered on one - or several - beaches. Make a circle with a piece of wire. Cover the wire with yarn, pulling the needle through each loop around the wire, as though casting stitches. Tie three threads to the circle, tying the ends together in a loop that you will use to hang the mobile. To make holes in the shells without breaking them, place them on a folded dishtowel. start Start a hole in the mother-of-pearl side using a thick, very sharp needle. Once you have made holes in all the shells (about 20 should be enough), thread them evenly onto the five pieces of string.
Ten Ways to Dress Up a Ponytail Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to spend a lot of time on my hair. But at the same time, I don't want to look like a homeless hairdresser when I go to work, so I try to make my ponytails as fancy as possible. Here are ten easy ways I like to dress up my ponytail: 1. Wrap it with a strand of hair -Put your hair in a ponytail like you normally would. 2. -Put your hair in a ponytail like you normally would. 3. 5. 6. -Flat iron your hair and apply smoothing serum for a more polished look. -Part your hair to one side. 7. -Part your hair to one side. 8. 9. Recommended Products: Sugar Scrubs Recipes *December 13, 2012 Update: I have had many of you wanting the labels to download…Great News! They are now available and you can get them by clicking on this link: Peppermint Candy Cane Sugar Scrub Labels You will notice that you have to Like my Face Book page to get it. As always I really appreciate the loyalty of my fans! Guess what? Sugar Scrubs are a great way to add some moisture and soften up winter-dry skin. I simply took two cups of white granulated Sugar and mixed in a 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup Almond Oil (Coconut Oil will work too). Once you have it all mixed together you will want to divide the scrub into two equal parts and in separate containers. Make a large funnel out of a piece of paper (a small one will not allow enough room for the sugar scrub to pass through it) and add a small amount into the jar. Then add a white layer so that they are about the same height and flatten it. You can buy Peppermint Essential Oils from my favorite DoTerra Rep here: Peppermint Essential Oil
Mysterious ‘Zombie’ Disease Is Afflicting Thousands Of Ugandan Children By David FergusonWednesday, March 21, 2012 12:52 EDT Agnes Apio has to tie up her son Francis before she can leave the house. In his state, he is a danger to himself. “I feel dark in my heart,” Apio says as waves flies away from her son’s face and mops up his urine after a seizure, “This boy has become nothing.” “Reportedly the children gnaw at their fabric restraints, like a rabid animals,” says The Daily Tech. First the victims become restless, can’t concentrate. Nodding Disease first attacks the nervous system, then the brain. Grace Lagat also has to tie up her children in order to leave the house. Experts are baffled as to what causes the disease, which only occurs in children. According to the Centers for Disease Control, onset usually takes place at the age of five or six and progresses rapidly, leaving the victims severely mentally and physically handicapped within a couple of years. Victims can wander off and disappear. Solutions, however, have been slow in coming. David Ferguson

Tough As Nails Having been a habitual nail-biter since kindergarten, Maggie has decided to finally break this bad habit and grow some "big girl nails". To help her poor, abused nails grow long and healthy, we decided to look into making a Gelatin Nail Strengthener (we found this one on eHow.com). Gelatin is a cheap, easy, and convenient way to build strong, beautiful nails! What You Need: 1/2 oz Gelatin1 cup waterPut the gelatin into a glass bowl. The original instructions we found said to fill a shot glass with the warm gelatin mixture and then dip one finger in and let it soak for 2 minutes... But who has the time to dip one finger at a time? Pour any unused gelatin mixture into a resealable container and it will keep in the fridge for about 2 months! Of course, as gelatin tends to do, it will firm up quickly in the fridge. And soon you will see healthy, happy nails!
