Absolutely mindblowing video shot from the Space Shuttle during launch Unless I'm misreading the speedo, the word "transonic" is used somewhat inaccurately. If I'm not mistaken, the vehicle went transonic quite a bit before this point. The visible shockwaves only go on for a range of about 100mph, which seems too short for the passage from the initial transonic range to supersonic. What the producer seems to mean is that it is going supersonic (passing the sound barrier). Transonic means that there is both supersonic and subsonic flow somewhere on the vehicle. This starts quite a ways below the speed of sound, in most cases around Mach 0.75. The Mach Number calculation is not that easy since Mach Number is True Airspeed divided by the Local Speed of Sound.

I found a guy on Craigslist that wanted to desperately get rid of his things at super cheap prices so I went to check it out. He sold things in bulk to get rid of as much things as possible. An old wooden box caught my attention. The film was pretty damaged so I just kept it on my bookshelf as decoration, but I couldn't get the images of the pictures out of my head. With help from Dario, we got an old 8mm projector in good working condition on Ebay. I asked my friend to help me make this website so I can share my findings. Black Dragon Pool in Lijiang, Yunnan Province | YNFAH - StumbleUpon Looking over Black Dragon Pool, towards Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Jade Spring Park The Black Dragon Pool (黑龙潭; Hēilóngtán) is a small lake in the Jade Spring Park, Yu Quan Gong Yuan, about a kilometre north from Square Street in the town of Lijiang, which also known as the Venice of the Orient. Legend of the Black Dragon The pool takes its name from an ancient legend. Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals of Chinese legends, jailed nine of the dragons in a tower, leaving only the youngest black dragon. The pool is divided into two parts by a white marble bridge, and despite the water being connected, the sides maintain different colours and the fish on either side refuse to swim to the opposite pool.
