Les autorités vénézuéliennes ont extradé samedi un agent des services de renseignement français Frédéric Laurent Bouquet, qui purgeait une peine de prison pour avoir tenté d’organiser l’assassinat du président Hugo Chavez en 2009. "Un agent des services de renseignement français qui a purgé une peine après avoir été condamné pour son intention d’assassiner le chef de l’Etat qu’il a avoué, a été expulsé du Venezuela.", a écrit Iris Varela, la ministre vénézuélienne de la Justice. Frédéric Laurent Bouquet a été arrêté avec trois citoyens de la République dominicaine en 2009 pour possession d’armes de guerre et d’explosifs, ainsi que pour tentative d’assassinat contre le président Hugo Chavez, le 18 juin 2009. Il a admis sa culpabilité, tout en reconnaissant qu’il était arrivé au Venezuela pour tuer Chavez et avait été condamné à quatre ans de prison.
