Δωρεάν μαθήματα μέσω διαδικτύου από βρετανικά πανεπιστήμια Μερικά από τα πιο αξιόλογα πανεπιστήμια της Βρετανίας έχουν συμπράξει με το ανοιχτό πανεπιστήμιο της χώρας, μέσω της FutureLearn, μιας καινούργιας εταιρείας που ανταγωνίζεται τα αμερικανικά προγράμματα Coursera και edX, προσφέροντας δωρεάν μαθήματα σε χρήστες του ίντερνετ σε όλο τον κόσμο. Δεκαοκτώ κορυφαία πανεπιστήμια στην Αγγλία είναι αυτή τη στιγμή ενεργά στη FutureLearn προσφέροντας δωρεάν διαδικτυακά προγράμματα σπουδών, σε μια προσπάθεια να ανταγωνιστούν την αντίστοιχη κίνηση πολλών αμερικανικών πανεπιστημίων.
