I've never hosted an event, never done anything fashion week related, never seen my clothes in a store in front of a ton of people...ha. So come by and say hi that night if you're in the area! And if you can't make it, or just want to see my clothes IRL, the pop-up shop will be there through September 16. I finished up these posters last night for both the Greenpoint and Soho stores. It was a lot of fun drawing a bunch of different designers, and interesting to re-draw some of my own patterns. designer and illustrator Attempting to live more of the ‘slow life’ can actually be a bit of a balancing act, that requires regular questioning of why you do things, and if you are really slowing down, or simply giving yourself a bigger to-do list. The idea of the ‘slow life’ is to get closer to the old way of living, before all the technology, pressure, convenience and mass production. It’s about slowing down, and taking in the moment, enjoying the process, finding pleasure in simple things, creating joy in your everyday routine, being present in the moment, rather than rushing around trying to achieve as much as physically possible in as little time as possible, and losing the joy of it all. It’s a rejection of the modern way of life, the fast paced rat race, of convenience, and technologies that disconnect us. read more

The past week has flown by, but not without a whole lot going on: Last Thursday celebrated the release of issue #8 and the Letterpress Sampler — more pictures posted soon, I promise! – le blog de l'abondance frugale – The 100 Startup BLEUBIRD BLOG happy holidays! we had a lovely christmas break over here. i can't believe how quickly it came and went. on christmas eve we invited some friends over and had a relaxing dinner. artichoke dip, honey roasted ham, beer cheese soup, along with plenty of christmas cookies and a giant present shaped cake that our friends so thoughtfully made for us. after opening up our christmas jammies and watching christmas movies, we tucked the kids into bed and popped a bottle of champagne for santa duty. the next morning the kids were up by 6:30 and rushing down the stairs to see if santa had come. good news... he did. i made a delicious soup inspired by the big kids grandmother. she makes a ham and bean soup with the leftover ham from the night before. i made a few changes, but it was easy and delicious. this is what i did... you will need: have a good weekend. i will be back on monday! xx
