The Gamer's Alphabet: A Children's Book | The Gamer’s Alphabet is an art project undertaken by Penny Arcade forum member El Jeffe. The dedication implies he made it for some kind of young relative, who is not yet old enough to get any of these references. The cover is below, and I’ve posted each of the alphabet pages below. I have to wonder, will kids understand any classic franchises at all that don’t stick around forever like Mario Bros? I guess I’ll find out when I force my not-yet-conceived three year old to play NES in a few years.

Least I Could Do: the Webcomic » by Ryan Sohmer and Lar deSouza A Bite to Eat I am amazed that anybody got an interview with Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin & Hobbes. As short as the interview might be, it’s awesome for me to read. Calvin & Hobbes is the reason I do comics today, and it’s an inspiration to hear his thoughts on his comic, and those legacy comics that exist in papers today. Best Starcraft Ghost Costume Ever October 27th, 2010 by Paul Strauss Worn by a serious StarCraft Ghost fan at this year’s BlizzCon, this incredible costume would look great, even if there weren’t a smokin’ hot girl wearing it – but that certainly doesn’t hurt. The costume features illuminated armor made from football pads, along with an accompanying bad-ass prop gun, crafted from what looks like a highly-modified NERF weapon. And while it doesn’t look exactly like the costume from the never-released game, I think I know who’s going to win their office costume contest anyhow. Going over a search result page online does not quite generate the same excitement as being faced with wall to wall goodies. Interested in what I took home? For those of you interested in the history of Nintendo, please take a look at my blog , dedicated to the pre-famicom days. If you know about other great retro shops, please post about them in the comments!
