Creative Commons is a system that allows you to legally use “some rights reserved” music, movies, images, and other content — all for free. CC offers free copyright licenses that anyone can use to mark their creative work with the freedoms they want it to carry. For instance, a musician might use a Creative Commons license to allow people to legally share her songs online, make copies for friends, or even use them in videos or make remixes. Where can I find CC-licensed music? Several sites offer music published under Creative Commons’ flexible copyright licenses. Can I use any song with a CC license on it? Almost — you need to make sure that what you want to do with the music is OK under the terms of the particular Creative Commons license it’s under. What is Creative Commons?

Wavosaur free audio editor with VST and ASIO support Render with a transparent background in blender | The compiled Works of Danny Kneip I’ve been panicked lately thinking about how to render my animation, frame by frame, without my computer exploding, especially since my sets are increasingly detailed. Then I saw the RGBA option. I always thought I had to render everything together. OR, I could apply a green background behind the character (using the World settings), then chroma-key away the green in a separate program and composite the solo character in front of any single background image or Quicktime movie. Sure, that’s one way of doing it. Final Composite example create in Photoshop, rendered in Blender What I really want is a render of my character with a transparent background, so I can easily plop any background into the scene without any other technical work. So here’s the set-up: One detailed set. The solution: Render one full shot of your background at the highest quality possible. Example of a detail set used as a backdrop. Audiofarm.org - Broadcast Your Audio Content, Reach Your Audience. What Makes a Good Podcast? Podcasting is no longer new. Like the HAM radio of years ago, the advent of podcasting made it easy for just about anyone to record a message and distribute it to the world. But just as YouTube made it easy for the everyday Joe to stream video, just because it’s easy to make a podcast, doesn’t mean it’s easy to make one with worthwhile content. A lot of the podcasts out there are junk. Many are just twenty-minute rants or boring unedited interviews. So even with a ton of podcasts to compete against, the good news is that it shouldn’t be too hard to stand out from the pack if you spruce yours up with a little production value. Great podcasts are like great radio For our purposes we will be talking about audio podcasting only. When I think of podcasting, I think of radio — not gab masters like Howard Stern or Carson Daly, but dramatic radio. These shows transcend the medium and connect with the listener. 1. Audio CC Malaysia, where are we now? A mixtape, open data and more CC Malaysia Mixtape 2015 by Muid Latif under CC BY NC ND A guest post by CC Malaysia Lead, Muid Latif. In the recent years, Malaysia has been more active in adopting open culture. Local mainstream media has provided a continuous platform for Creative Commons Malaysia to reach out to Malaysians in promoting CC, and both government and the community have been proactive in spearheading interesting online projects for everyone’s benefit. For example, last December I had the chance to approach several local musicians and producers who are familiar with Creative Commons licenses on SoundCloud to find out if they were keen to have their music under a CC license. Our community also wants to play a greater role in open data. In this context, I have recently had the chance to contact the founder of the Big Data Malaysia network, Tirath Ramdas, about his view on open data here in Malaysia and concerns about citizen engagement. 5 Comments »
