Halloween Special: The 9 Scariest Short Internet Films

Halloween Special: The 9 Scariest Short Internet Films
This Halloween night, we bet that a lot of you will be watching at least one scary movie in order to get into the proper spirit (no pun intended.) If you’re in the mood for a little spine-chilling fear before the main course, though, you should check out some of the horror fare that the internet has to offer; it’s proof positive that a bigger budget does not always equal bigger scares (we’re looking at you, Wes Craven.) 9. Still Life has the one of the most unique premises around: a man drives into a town full of mannequins that (apparently) move when he’s not looking at them and freeze when he does, like an incredibly dark and demented version of Toy Story. 8. This one is technically cheating, since it’s a collection of videos rather than a single short, but while each of the Slender Man chronicles is scary enough on their own they become something else entirely when chained together. 7. 6. 5. 4. Sure, this video is basically just a dramatic reading of a creepy-pasta short story. 3.

Pax John Dies at the End Teaser Trailer WARNING: The following contains numerous monsters and implied male nudity. Also may contain implied gore and implied flamethrower and implied interdimensional travel and the evil prison guard from The Shawshank Redemption and award-winning actor Paul Giamatti. Based on the novel by Cracked Editor David Wong, here is the quite frankly insane first trailer for "yes, this is a real movie" John Dies at the End. If you are any kind of a normal human being, the above video has raised several hundred questions in your mind. 1. I'm Cracked.com Senior Editor David Wong and the author of John Dies at the End, the novel that has now been made into the above movie. 2. It's actually very simple. There are numerous things wrong with my brain that in the future will almost certainly be classified as diseases. Now, through a series of grossly improbable accidents, it has been turned into a feature film directed by cult horror legend Don Coscarelli. 3. No, it's a real movie. 4. I opened it. It was empty.

25 Spectacular Movies You (Probably) Haven’t Seen Pt. 2 Human Traffic Very unique comedy about the drug/club culture in the UK. The Matador Pierce Brosnan plays an assassin going through a mid-life crisis as he approached retirement. The Good, The Bad, And the Weird Two comical outlaws and a bounty hunter fight for a treasure map in 1940s Manchuria while being pursued by the Japanese army and Chinese bandits. Tucker and Dale vs. A group of college students go camping for the weekend and, through a series of unlucky events, begin thinking that the harmless Tucker & Dale (pictured above) are trying to kill them. New Kids Turbo An absolutely nutty movie from the Netherlands. Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang KKBB is a murder-comedy (?) Big Trouble Big Trouble is one of those movies where all of these different people end up intertwined at the end of the movie. Once Upon A Time In The West Persepolis 13 Assassins Dr. Drive

Modern Drunkard Magazine The Striding Man All Dressed Up and Somewhere to Go Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky Johnnie Walker’s first foray into print advertising left something to be desired: the 1883 illustration featured a broken-hearted Scot boo-hooing over a bottle of whisky smashed at his feet. The exercise-obsessed dandy who would lead Johnnie Walker to the pinnacle of scotch supremacy didn’t hit the ground walking until 1909. Modeled after the company’s founder, John “Johnnie” Walker, the character was drawn by famed illustrator Tom Browne under the direction of George Walker, John’s grandson. Initially called “The Regency Buck,” the icon’s moniker was later toned down to the more descriptive (if less dashing) “The Striding Man.” The family name had more than a little to do with the logo’s ambulatory nature. Why It Worked: Pirates enjoy the same privileged status in the popular consciousness as ninjas, mafioso and gunslingers.

This World is Awesome (20 photos) As a National Geographic photographer since 1995, Stephen Alvarez has explored our world in ways most of us can only imagine. His global stories have won him numerous awards and taken him to amazing places, much like our all-time favorite photographer, Steve McCurry. Over the past fifteen years, Alvarez chronicled the world's unseen landscapes and then called the series Earth from Below. His journeys took him to the world's deepest cave in Abkhazia on the border with Russia and made him curious enough to explore the treasures right underneath his feet. Alvarez recently spoke about these incredible experiences at The Annnenberg Space for Photography. What I enjoy most about Alvarez's photos is that, just like Steve McCurry, he can transport us into another time and place. I was able to ask Stephen my favorite question: What advice would you give to aspiring photographers? "There is a sea of photographers out there," he continues.

A Collection of the 25 Greatest Unscripted Scenes in Movies by Ethan Anderton August 15, 2011Source: YouTube While much of the greatness of any given film begins with the words on the pages of a screenplay, there are still plenty of amazing moments in cinema that come from actors' improvisation. While many associate the idea of improv with comedy, even great dramas have sublime moments of spontaneity that make certain scenes truly memorable. Thankfully, YouTube user Mewlists (via Movies.com) has made a video chronicling what they believe to be the 25 Greatest Unscripted Scenes in Films. Here's the Greatest Unscripted Scenes video, which originally comes from Reddit: You may have some disputes with some of these, but as I said, this isn't meant to be a definitive list, more of a video for fun. Modern Drunkard Magazine “What’d you get up to last night?” “Got wicked drunk.” “Yeah? Where’d you go?” “I didn’t go anywhere. I drank at home.” The bottle doesn’t jabber. Pictures of Moments Speak More than Thousand Words...... Picture can speak thousands of words. Random pictures of insignificant moments always been the most important and most valuable. Photographers and painters beautifully imprint huge number of events, objects and types. Some do it by accident on the momentary desire. Others do it in order to fix the time for the future. For me they are really different and thoughtful, simple but speak lots of words……… 1. Photographer – Zilvinas Valeika 2. 3. One of the best photos on the version of Red Bull Illume 2010. 4. Psychedelic Room Drawings May 09, 2011 / Category : Art / 0 Comments Fully transformative installations are always impressive, but ones that involve a full-360 illustrative experience are something we don't see often. Here we have a view of an installation from Japanese artist, Yosuke Goda, creating an immersive environment. Armed with black markers, Goda has no mercy for the surrounding white walls, floor, and ceiling. A pychedelic organism is born, with a body that looks similar to the roots and vines of an old, tall tree. The monster appears to constantly grow, as if it has no self-control and needs to furiously feed itself...
